Maybe he can I’m not sure, but I think in James report on signing Oakley he only mentioned rb and from what I’ve seen of the pair Oakley is the better of the two in my opinion.

Jack Torniainen has been released by Eastleigh, would be good to see him back next season as a fully signed magpie? Unfortunately got caught out too many times for me last season.

I saw that as well Gemma, hopefully we are in for him but I’d imagine his wages would be high and wonder if he’s want to play step 4?

Even with our new owners, I doubt that we could afford to bring Toby back to us, Re Keepers, I would like to see us sign Tommy Scott if the budget alows. Incidentaly, where did Alex Cull end up?

Here is the statement from Taunton Town about Toby tauntontown.com/featured-news/holmes-moves-on/I, for one, would be very excited indeed if we could get Toby back - if only for a season. With regard to whether the club could afford him then it has been done in the past that supporters will fund the wages of a player the club would like to sign. He has some affection for this club where effectively he made his name [ scoring 132 goals in 143 games] so I would be prepared to help fund it in my small way if enough supporters would do the same. Those supporters who have only joined us recently certainly missed out seeing him play and scoring goals like this www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCCcQ7_8mugThe videos which follow on from Toby's solo run v North Leigh are worth watching too.

I wondered about Alex Cull, as does ash in above post. It struck me that when Gerard arrived, Alex either felt he was being sidelined or was given the elbow as his departure was less than 48 hours after Gerard's signing. The club published the usual statement of wishing Alex well and that "he was pursuing a future outside football". Perhaps a euphemism for Sod this, I've been doing OK and now you've signed someone else.

It wasn’t quite like that with Alex, the club signed Gerard because Alex had already told them he was going to stop playing. I think Alex fell out of love with football after being released by Southampton, tried to give it another go this year but decided it wasn’t for him.

I think Alex fell out of love with football after being released by Southampton, tried to give it another go this year but decided it wasn’t for him. This was my understanding too. Maybe a bit of time out from the game will have refreshed him and his love for the game. A Goalie is a big part of the game these days. Btw I hope we continue to nurture the young goalies and remember that Reece Mitchell also performed some heroics between the sticks in difficult circumstances and at short notice at the end of the season.

So the club have tonight announced Lewis beale is staying, good news I think, hopefully with a better team we will see him scoring lots more in a Wimborne shirt.
Also Jordan Seabright in a goalkeeping coach, saw him play a few times for Weymouth and he looked very good

Some good news on these signings… thanks BOD and James for drip feeding these signings… it’s exactly what, I think, the true fan base want to hear/see. And if we could secure a Toby signing.. imagine our up front pairing… 😱. But…. james I’m sure you have your back room staff and players that fit your overall team profile in hand… guess that’s why you’re the managers seat and most of us are impatient… but supportive fans.

I also like his comments that he felt he owes it to the fans to stay and try and get promotion 👏 With regards to Jordan Seabright, can’t we persuade him to go in goal? He’d easily be the best number one in the league. He stopped playing for Weymouth due to work commitments but surely he’ll be at most games now as goalkeeping coach anyway.
