Just been informed by E I Addio that Lloyd Thomas has left and we have signed Shane Murphy from Hamworthy. Not a surprise

Yes … just read it on the WTFC site…. the new manager is bound to want some of his preferred players around him. There’s great expectations from him, his management team and of course our players… Three points on Saturday would be good …

Having seen HU a few times this season when the Magpies were away etc I didnt think they had any players who were any better than ours [ and some have played for us before anyway] I'm assuming they have done so well due to the way the management team set them up, coached them and instilled confidence in them. Lets hope they can do the same for us.
It was mooted on here before that perhaps Tim Sills would bring Shane Murphy over. Expect we put in a 7 day approach , although if he was on contract we would have had to pay compensation to HU for him. This is how that works :-

Can't say i'm surprised Tim has brang in Shane Murphy, but i am disappointed. Personally i think the other keeper deserved more of a chance after what was described as two decent performances for us. Does Shane Murphy improve us, no. If the Asa Phillips one happens that i said about too then does he improve us, no. Feeling a bit deflated with the additions so far. Let's hope i can be proved wrong tomorrow!

I’ve never seen Shane Murphy have a bad game so I’m not concerned. Lloyd Thomas didn’t have a long run in the side or a chance to shine. He was well out of position for Willand Rovers goal which was Tim Sills first game view of him and led to a loss so probably not the best impression. Still early days but hopeful that 2 training sessions will change something for tomorrow Just seen Shaftesbury have announced Asa Phillips has moved to Wimborne!

Murphy is okay, but carrying a little weight from what I’ve seen last season, the asa one again from what I’ve seen technically not the best but will hustle and bustle, but played wide more than a cf when I’ve watched

Let's hope i can be proved wrong tomorrow! We've had a succession of keepers and Tim Sills has worked with Shane for 2 years, knows him well and is a trusted keeper. I remember him playing for us before too. He's very experienced and keepers mature with age. He has played at a higher level and commands his area well. I do consider Shane improves us. Perhaps Lloyd can be taken on by HU ?

I’m not convinced he improves us above llyod who’s played in the southern prem the last 2 years and is more athletic but hopefully I’m wrong, where did Shane play higher? Wasn’t he at this level with totton then lower with Hamworthy

Shane Murphy makes match defining saves - simple as that.
I’ve not seen Phillips much at all, so won’t form any sort of judgement until after he’s actually played. Controversial I know, but that’s how I roll … 🙂

Shane Murphy used to play for Dorchester in the SLP but that was a few seasons ago. Also think he played a few games for us at the old ground but again a few seasons ago. Sorry I can't be more specific with dates

Its very unlikely Hamworthy players will be on contracts, also Wimborne will now have to wait 28 days before they can sign another Hamworthy player, I see Asa Phillips will be signing from Shaftsbury. Is this a sign of the notorious hoof ball tactics ? Only time will tell.

I don’t know where this “hoofball” myth comes from. I’ve filmed a hell of a lot of Hamworthy over the last couple of seasons & then obviously watched it back during the editing process, so know what I’ve seen.
If clearing your lines (and not conceding goals by trying to play out beyond your abilities) is a crime against football, then bring on the clean sheets 😀
