That’s the way to bounce back from Saturday, great second half performance today, some fantastic saves from the keeper today that kept us in it, then the goals kept coming, roll on next week hopefully for some more performances as good as today. 👍

Magpies Scorers
Roberts [30], Beale * [48], Bartlett [54], Morgan [56], Hanger [70] - who got Man of the match by the sponsors.
Attendance was a creditable 568
Lymington scored on 75 after a mix up between keeper and a defender. Although Parker-Trott did make some crucial saves during the game. We did look vulnnerable at times at the Back as Rose did not start [presumably injured after going off at Westbury on Saturday] - but he suffered the matchday programme curse of several in the past who have been chosen to appear on the cover , but got injured beforehand !!
Other selected scores in our division
AFC Totton 0 Sholing 1 Bashley 0 Hamworthy Utd 1 [Sam Griifin] and in the SLP
Poole Town 1 [Toby H] Salisbury 2 Att 632 Yate Town 0 Dorch 0
* Was given as an o.g by the matchday announcer

That was a very enjoyable bank holiday match. There was a spell in the second half where we were unplayable. Football is a funny old game as greavsie was fond of saying. Questions were asked after Saturday about desire and application. I am not sure if James printed off a copy of the Westbury comments from this forum and posted it on the dressing room wall as inspiration but the reaction was exactly what we wanted. Credit to players and management today.
What a great crowd too. I doubt we would have got so many at the old ground for a bank holiday match for anyone other than Poole so it shows the draw of the new facilities and hopefully a good number will return after that result.
You couldn't ask for much more really.

What a result… 3 points.. Didn’t enjoy the first half if I’m honest… but WOW what ever was said in the changing rooms at half time… and then Gambo… your enthusiasm was infectious… we watched you on the touch line… and the difference came… The team we always knew were there… We could easily have been 7-1 … Lewis… you’re scoring skills will be back very soon… crikey you had so many shots.. don’t give up… and what saves from the keeper… It was overall a good afternoon’s entertainment in front of a huge crowd… And the atmosphere in the clubhouse afterwards… well success breeds success… (btw have you tried those ham and tomato rolls on the bar…)… James .. your skills in management came to the fore today… please don’t be put off by these negative faceless.p comments in this site … it was great to see you so approachable in the bar after the game… As a supporter I’m feeling really encouraged by the squads skills and tenacity… Obviously our visiting teams are going to close good football skills down with high and long balls… but no doubt you and your team are well aware of this… Great afternoons football. Gemma… hope you managed to chat to James in the bar afterwards…. If not - I’m sure he would have appreciated your supportive comments (oops did I say that out loud)…

Great result but I think you will find that Lymington will be the 'whipping boys' of the league this season and relegation is nearly a certainty from what I saw this afternoon !

Yes lymington are not the best team in the league but as the old saying goes you can only beat what’s in front of you.
I see the messages last night between stokes and Gemma. What did you think today Gemma and what did you think was the best goal?

What did you think today Gemma and what did you think was the best goal? Hi Wimbornefan, how are you? Yes the team played well today, in particular Oakley Hangar who deserved his goal after a great performance storming forwards down the right hand side. I agree with others that Lymington aren’t the strongest side but you can only beat what’s in front of you and to get 5 goals in front of a big crowd was great to see.

This is why we live football, I thought Ben Satterley was fantastic today, with jez Bedford probably having his best game I’ve seen him have in a Wimborne shirt, Oakley hanger did well today but thought he was sloppy first half.
