Yes the whole family are football crazy so we do watch a lot of game’s locally. I have/do watch a lot of AFCB youth games as my boys both started off there and my husband also did a lot of scouting for a national league team a few years ago. We do have a lot of players that played for AFCB youth teams, Burbs was there for years, Curtis Young is another that I can remember watching at AFCB a few years ago and Connal Morrison. Jez Bedford was at Portsmouth about the same time. As you know, sadly it’s not many that go on to get a pro contract so a lot of them go into the local leagues, obviously still good players. Do your kids play football for Wimborne at all? I see Wimborne put out a advert for a scout a while back did your husband not want to help the club out? No they don’t, they are at the Yeovil academy now. He prefers to watch Wimborne play now as it’s our local club and we live nearby, he did it for many years and no longer enjoys the travel. |

One thing I think we can agree on is that the added finances at the start of a season is really helping James. |

You know… give the Manager the right tools.. and hopefully all his homework, knowledge, contacts and experience will bring together a side that on paper should make a difference on the pitch… James… thanks for piecing together a team with experience, integrity and enthusiasm that will make a difference on the pitch for next season.. And I’m sure we’re not done yet…

It’s really good to see a strong team coming together and importantly harmony amongst the Forum! We are where we are and it looks like the BOD are backing James and Gambo to build a team for next season.
I agree we still need some strength in the centre defence ( I do hope Arnie is in their minds to help out and to get a few more games to hit the 600) but it looks like it’s coming together
The pitch works will hopefully help and get us through the season so let’s all get behind the whole club next season. It was not nice watching last season so I am hoping we get a run and some excitement next year. Please get behind the team- they do appreciate it - I have been told! Together as the 13th man/woman and child we could make the difference

Meanwhile another great signing Jack Hoey, he was excellent at Dorchester on loan from Weymouth before moving to Totton whom we’ve signed him from.

Pity about Curtis. I liked him as a player to the extent that I sponsored him last season. I also told him that fans appreciate loyalty as he was the only senior player, apart from Arnie, who stayed with the club right through lockdown. But for some reason management never quite took to him and was often used as a sub. I remember the time he came on against Poole and scored a last minute winner to delirious scenes. I feel sure we will see him playing against us next season. Best wishes For the future Curtis.

I see Twitter is quite active on curt leaving. Good player I understand but do we think we have gained better players than him or not with the new signings? No question we have signed some good players, I can’t count a starting 11 let alone a squad of 15 to 18 players that we will definitely need to keep us in the title race next season, I’m struggling to understand how Curtis doesn’t fit in that squad ? |
