Someone with height and strength is a good suggestion Gemma, but isn't that what everybody is after? They are not exactly falling out of the woodwork and they know their value to teams. Can't be easy job for James to find any that are available.

Oh yes totally agree, no obvious names spring to mind to be honest but I know in one of Graham’s interviews with James that he said he’d put in approaches for 3 defenders so fingers crossed we can bring someone in

Another familiar opponent next season: Sholing have brought record goalscorer Lee Wort back to the Pitching In Southern League Division One South club.
The 31-year-old moved to Wessex League Premier Division neighbours AFC Portchester in July 2020.
He returns to the Boatmen having scored 256 goals in 472 games for the club.
He had re-joined Sholing in October 2019 after spending six months travelling the world.
He spearheaded the Boatmen to an FA Vase/Wessex Premier `double` in 2013/14 before moving to Gosport Borough.
He returned to Sholing and then gave the Vanarama National League South another try with Poole Town in the summer of 2016.
He trialled with Accrington Stanley in 2014 and returned again to Sholing in 2017 From Southern League website

Another familiar, and formidable, figure we'll be facing next season is striker Mike Symons who has been signed by Cinderford:
"Also signing for the Foresters is vastly experienced forward Mike Symons.
The 36-year-old, 6`3” target man has enjoyed spells at several non-League clubs, including Worcester City, Oxford City, Clevedon Town, Cirencester Town, Forest Green Rovers and Gloucester City in what has been an eventful footballing career.
He joined Hereford FC at the beginning of their record-breaking 2017/18 Southern Premier Division South title-winning season, scoring 24 times in 52 games.
He moved to Southern Premier South outfit Weston-super-Mare at the end of December 2019 and then switched to Southern Division One South side Evesham in late September 2021."

From the Southern League website: Pitching In Southern League Division One South club AFC Totton have pulled off something of a coup by signing vastly experienced forward Scott Rendell.
The 35-year-old has played all his previous football at either Football League or National League level, joining the Stags from National League South neighbours Havant & Waterlooville.
He had signed for the Hawks at the start of the 2021/22 season from then-National League South rivals Maidstone United, where he had been since arriving in July 2020 from National League outfit Eastleigh.
He had been with the Spitfires since moving from National League rivals Aldershot Town at the end of the 2018/19 season.
He has also played for the likes of Cambridge United, Peterborough United, Torquay United, Wycombe Wanderers, Luton Town and Woking. And during his time with Woking between the 2013/14 and 2015/16 seasons, he was the leading Conference goalscorer for two seasons in a row, scoring 17 in 34 and 24 in 40 respectively, before his spell with Cards ended at the start of the following season due to injury.
AFC Totton boss Jimmy Ball told his club’s website: “Scotty Rendell is a signing! People who’ve been in and around this level of football are going to sit up and take notice,” the AFC Totton manager enthused.

I don't think Brett would have fitted in to our wage structure, rumours are that he is being paid £850 per week...

From the Southern League website 25/7: Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South club Salisbury have signed goalkeeper Lewis Gunstone-Gray after impressing during pre-season.
The 24-year-old has played for former Salisbury’s league rivals Wimborne Town in the Southern League as well as for Downton and Shaftesbury in the Wessex League.
However, it is with another Wessex Premier side, Christchurch, where he became something of a hero. In 2020/21, his shot-stopping ability helped them win a penalty shoot-out 6-5 against Vanarama National League North side Gloucester City to cause a major upset in the Emirates FA Cup Second Qualifying Round.

A good keeper graham. I saw the vase match that year vs Falmouth where again they won on pens. Last game before covid killed another season.
