Evening all, some good points of view on here as usual and well done to all those that travelled to Merthyr, that’s a long trip and genuinely that’s a fantastic effort going all that way to give support. Just a couple of questions if I may to those that may be in the know? - Why was our budget decreased or kept the same and not high enough to compete due to the stadium move? I appreciate that we didn’t get any money for the old Cuthbury but we were given a fantastic brand new facility that should be generating more income than the old facilities in previous seasons. I know that is something the new board want to build on, but does the clubhouse not bring in more by being open all week, events, roast dinners etc, we should bringing in a significant income from renting out the 3G pitch during the week? And also it’s the first year we’ve run the academy which isn’t cheap to sign up for, does that not bring in any profit either? Crowds were also well up on previous seasons at the start of the season as people came to visit the new facility - Secondly, I appreciate that we can’t compete financially with the likes of Farnborough but where do we stand compared to the teams around us, Merthyr, Dorchester etc. many teams in our league have lower crowds than we do. I’m not expecting confidential figures to be shared here but are we equal budget, 10% less, 50% less? Also as Barry mentioned in a previous post, we are all passionate fans here. I know that I do not always endear myself to people on here when I question the manager, whom some of you are fiercely loyal to, but we do all have a common cause and passion and like yourselves I do genuinely want the club and team to thrive. Hi Gemma, The question you asked are valid and I’m not sure if you were at the first fans forum with the original board and James amend mark, and again this is why I back James and get frustrated with some of your comments, It was stated that when Danny left/sacked (however it’s put) the budget had been decreased and Danny didn’t like it/couldn’t work with it, James stepped in and rebuilt a team that was compatible last season because of other clubs lower budget due to Covid, once the season had finished early and after the da cup run and significant prize money won, (which hasn’t happened a lot previously the budget didn’t increase and it was stated only kings Langley where close to our budget but still higher than ours. Regarding clubs around us dorch budget has been considerably higher than our for years and even when ours was at its highest under Matty dorch was still well ahead of us. Rumours on Tuesday about Mike green going to dorch and their current budget was nearly 100% higher than ours at the start of the season. I hope this helps and I know we don’t see eye to eye on a lot of things I hope this info helps you understand why I think your opinion of James is incorrect at time.

It's good to get some measured comments from some of our most die hard fans and 100% agree that changing the manager now won't achieve anything. This season has been shocking on so many levels and for me the frustration is more that there was a budget cut to coincide with the move to the new ground. As someone who represents the average regular but not die hard home and away fan I'm just interested in why the budget was so low now compared with 2018-20 when we were competitive in the league and beat the likes of Harrow, Walton, Weston and even Farnborough (last season under James ironically). Was it simply the ground move that exhausted funds? I only ask because I thought we did a deal with Wyatt on this where we sold Cuthbert and they built the ground. It just seems that compared with other lower supported clubs like harrow we went backwards massively this season. Any insights on this from those close to the day to day of the club, welcome! I'm actually looking forward to next season as I intend visiting new ground s. In the meantime I will continue to do home matches and ground hop around Dorset on other saturdays! We're all fans though at the end of the day. My understanding of it was we never got any money for cuthbury just a new ground built, the new grounds running costs are more, the budget from what I’ve been told is the same as last season but majority of other clubs, farnborough a prime example have shot through the roof and our hasn’t moved. This is how I understood the scenario: We never got any money for moving from Cuthbury. It was in the local plan that we would be given a new ground [if we relinquished the Old Cuthbury lease [from the Hanham Estate ??] and which was pencilled in for housing] paid for by Wyatts who would have the land for building houses on. New Cuthbury is owned by the Council and the club have a 99 year lease. I believe it actually cost money for us to move with regard to certain items we had to buy to fit the place out. Perhaps this where the low budget comes in when money was diverted for this - although I seem to remember there was a justgiving page set up for that ??

I think the apathy shown after loosing to the only team who have anywhere near as bad a record as us and all but conforming relegations speaks volumes. Another episode of poor discipline. I would really love to know what gives anyone actual confidence this manager can achieve any of our long term objectives. I take no pleasure feeling this way because it feels like its witch hunt but it seems performances and results are unbelievably getting worse!! I just cannot fathom that Lee genuinely believes there is no one else out there who can do a better job than James. At what point do we say enough is enough.

Thanks for this.unfortunately I couldn't attend the fans forum in December and in fairness many regular but not die hard fans probably didn't either. A logical question many fans will ask is why was our budget so small when for most of the season we were the sixth or seventh best supported club in the league with a very active social club. I guess this partly addresses that point but many fans not close to the running of the club will be asking this question. I certainly don't doubt that James cares. You don't play more than 400 matches at a club without caring, but when you look at how well Hamworthy for example are doing on modest average gates of around 130-150 you're bound to wonder what's going on at Wimborne when the infrastructure and fan base seems so solid. With a hopefully revamped pitch next season and reinforced team I'm sure things will start to look up. The new bod are trying to provide stability so I hope it pays off.

Bezza, Your right Hamworthy have done well with lower crowds but let’s put this into perspective a little, their budget was rumoured to be only slightly lower than ours, in a considerably weaker league, therefor they would be offering players similar money to what we were and we are asking them to travel up to 12 hours on away games and finish work early on midweek for that money which they don’t have to do in the Wessex league as 90% of the travelling is under a hour

I do feel we are all saying the same thing...we want WYFC to do well! Due to our position we are going to have to wait until the new season to see it. Some of us will continue going home and away because they are our team, happy or not but we will stick with them, confident(?) That all will improve drastically next season. We are still shouting for you Wimborne!! (even though we're wingers)
