Nothing is forever!
Seriously though, in terms of the future, I always re-evaluate at the end of every season anyway, mainly to satisfy myself that the time & expense I put into each club is merited. Of course, I can only do what I do with the blessing of the clubs I go to, so the decision to stop or continue comes from both parties, although I’ve not been asked to step doing it anywhere …. yet … which is an absolute miracle 😂
I like consistency, so provide the same output irrespective of the ‘level’ of the team I’ve covered and with each set of highlights taking a minimum of 8 hours, it is not an insignificant commitment;
30mins preparing the video project, gathering graphics, etc 3hrs at ground filming 3hrs editing 1hr commentary 30mins social media
Anyway, I’ve gone a bit off topic. Nothing sinister meant .. 👍

Tony - it would be a disaster for supporters if you stopped videoing our games. I can see it builds up to, what is in effect, a days work for you. I presume you get no remuneration from anybody. I am still holding £100 from a member who wanted to sponsor a player but we have received no response from the club. Would that help ?

I usually give it back to the club. I am certainly willing to give it to you. Not much I agree considering the time and effort you put into your videos which are much appreciated

Tony - I really enjoy viewing your high quality highlights especially since I am unable to get to every game. I will happily chip in with £25 and I'm sure there will be others on here who find your videos invaluable who will follow suit

Whoa lads and lasses!
Yes it’s a days work and yes it’s often two games a week, but I volunteer to do this. If I wanted to jack it in, I would - that’s the beauty (for me) of being involved in more than one club - it gives me a really good feel for what is done well & badly at each institution and that helps me decide things during the summer break.
Money isn’t & never has been the driver. I’d prefer any of the funds mentioned went back to the club, the supporters club or another much more worthy cause than me.
My mate Steve at All-Clean Waste Management sorts me out at most games with something hot and liquidy 👍

Tony.. I would hate to not be able to see the highlights (and lowlights 🤣) from games that I am unable to attend.
I appreciate that you are a volunteer and that you must enjoy doing it, otherwise, like you say you could simply walk away.
However it would be great if the club could get you a sponsership, what you do with those funds would be for you to decide...
Could the gantry not have advertising on it?
I know that you would gladly post a sponsers business in you highlights.
Any how, let's hope that we still see you around next season as we would all be worse off without your contributions.

Advertising on the front/sides of the gantry is a good idea Yogi. Even just a little something which says highlights by TBTV sport might help Tony get more sponsorship.

I did have a TBTV banner on version 1 of the tower but they lost it when it was replaced. I’ve been told the club will pay for a new one but, honestly, I can’t be bothered to sort it out.
It’s probably THE prominent position in the ground, so if the commercial team can sell it for more than a standard board, I’d prefer they did that.

I know that you would gladly post a sponsers business in you highlights. I had active dialogue with 4-5 businesses during the summer but they ultimately came to nothing, so I appreciate how difficult it is to attract sponsors & don’t envy anyone who has to do it 😂

Disagree with virtually everything you say. There are some decent clubs in the league below also. I also think us being a conference south team is also pie in the shy. There you go. quote author=" merleymagpie" source="/post/1026/thread" timestamp="1641408748"]Have to say a combination of last nights last minute defeat and watching the last post game interview, I am furious. We have heard literally every excuse from covid, to injuries to players being upset at an injury, but only one think remains consistent, we are bottom of the league and continue to loose games. We are now sleeping walking towards relegation. This isn't youth football or amateur football, people are being paid to do a job, indeed paid whilst others work tirelessly on a voluntarybasis behind the scenes and unless the job spec is guide towards relegation those employed are simply failing. Maybe because we got promoted by default, maybe because we think we can throw money at it in the league below. But I actually almost think it's borderline negligent to continue as we are and accept relegation on the basis some people and I say some, feel the the manager hasn't been given a fair chance. I'm not sure how much more patience even he can believe he can be afforded. This isn't personal but I honestly can't fathom how the board cant see that a change is now absolutely essential. We talk about being a progressive club and utilising our new home to our advantage, becoming prodimant club and concern in our area and this level, yet we are apparently willing to accept not mediocrity but continued failure in the most important department of the club. Even from a sponsorship perspective,or player recruitment what message does just plodding along towards relegation really convey? Just really hacked off with the looming probability of regular trips to Larkhall and the likes to BMF. When we should be dreaming in the next several years of promotion to the NLS. Again James seems to be a good guy,but was given the job by default, hes been paid for his time and efforts and has had plenty of time now. lets not forget, irrespective of the so called dorset premier league budget, he had over half a year to prepare for this season lack of time or opportunity really isn't the issue here. I really do hope that the new board don't diminish the good impression and work done so far by allowing us to just drift back to division one. [/quote]

This chat is about the Truro game. If you look at it and listen to what the management said in the post match interview in terms of the midfield they got it spot on! I understand no one has scored 3 goals against Truro but we changed it up and scored 3 and apart from an amazing save from Harry Morgan’s volley it should have been four! In terms of the attacking play I thought it was a vast improvement and the slight change in tactics should be applauded. We let in 3 soft goals. Is this bad management? Given what I have just said about the change of tactics going forward which I think helped us was the poor defending down to poor management? We have now been beset by two knee dislocations in the most experienced defenders. Keaton Woods was brought in (when the budget was tiny) to bring some steel to the defence. It was not the managements fault that this didn’t pay off. Who else is missing? Ben Scorey is still out, Connel Morrison has been out for a significant period and has just come back. Tom Bragg has been recalled to Eastleigh for a period, Then we have the injury to Struggs. The lack of a secure defensive unit is not necessarily down to poor management but down to a low budget to start with and bad luck with injuries. The management have clearly identified this and attempted to pull in significant cover including Jack T etc. Having a solid unit at the back from the start of the season would have helped but trying to sort this out now will be difficult for anyone. Having been to almost every game this season the team feel every defeat as do the management. This is not a pleasant time for all involved but I believe we need to get behind all of the team, management and club as a whole. We are entering a new phase at WTFC. What has happened last year cannot be changed and there is no magic bullet in the short term. We need to move on united! My opinion of course and until the last game I #Believe
