I think we will have to agree to disagree, budget, in my opinion doesn't have a linear relationship with performance. If it did I think this sport would have long since ceased being the compelling drama that it is. Of course it has a effect, but you have handpicked your examples which I really dont feel are in anyway valid comparisons. For each of yours I can give you another that has outperformed there budget.
What you are suggesting is exactly my concern. If you are saying the management can only be judged on level playing field, you are promoting that Irrespective of current and forward performance the board back them financially over a sustained period of time to see if they are actually capable of doing the job at hand. That seems to me like a very risky experiment putting an awful lot at stake in order to facilitate fair analysis of the James and Marks capabilites. I think I would rather the review was conducted for the remainder of the season without an influx of short highly paid loans and quick fixes. That's just my opinion.
BUT.. that said there is absolutely no point making a change for the sake of it. It depends what our short to medium term objectives are. It maybe that the new boards vision is best served by giving the management the chance to grow with the club. My only concern is the calls for more time to be given in order to let the management build a relagation escaping side whilst we continue to loose games every week. If we are hell bent staying it up, the two lines of thought seem conflicted. Thats why I feel this weeks result followed bythe forum will tell us where our ambitions lie.
Again I get what your saying, but surely if you can only afford players that are Wessex league players, and most of what we could afford/have are from Wessex league teams, then surely you can only organise them to a certain degree, surely the better players at better teams will eventually find the weak points in the team and exploit it. I’m of the opinion the management can’t be given fair judgement of their abilities until the are working on a level playing field, and going back to previous threads on here that very hard to do during the season I would Imagine
How do you think they could be more organised? Don’t you see this in the premier league with Norwich Newcastle losing most weeks at the bottom, Dover in the conference, Barnsley have won 2 games in 21 in the the championship, lower team budget will poorer player all see. To be at the bottom of every league

Playing devils advocate magpiesfan, I didnt dismiss it at all, I was just saying those facts should be taken into consideration with that stat line the same way the current lack of results is being mitigated by the budget. As Ive said previously, I'm on the fence regarding the management, have I seen enough to suggest they are going to guide us to success? No. Have they maximised the capabilities of the squad? No. I think we could have seen a better organised, better disciplined and more consistent side irrespective of the players supposed lack ability. Do I think they are performing better than anyone else out there could in the circumstance? No.
