Is there anyway that Graham's post match interviews with James can be conducted indoors... Now that we are in the midst of winter the wind makes a lot of the interview hard to hear when it is recorded in the stand.
How about creating a "backdrop screen" with sponsors names on (as seen in the Premier League).. interviews could then be held in front of the screen to give sponsors extra coverage.

My guess would be that it’s a Poole fan on the wind up! First half was good, and it’s a shame that we didn’t take some of our other chances, Curtis went clean through on the left and could have scored, we also had a couple of clear headers from corners, Bragg right on the half time whistle. Second half was poor, it’s almost like you could feel the confidence drain once Hendon went in front. Curtis should have passed it to rose for a tap in. We looked very dangerous on the counter today. But again 2 new players doesn’t solve the problem and like I said it’s going to take take to change it I’m sure.

I think this week will be a good indication of what the new boards intention is this season. Having watched the game yesterday, a competitive first 15 minutes led to near Hendon dominance for the rest of the half and a reasonable start to the second led to capitulation. The point in time where we should be buoyed by good performances in parts of a half or games where we are have been unlucky is long past relevance for us in our current situation. I think we are fortunate we have some games in hand otherwise the situation would certainly be terminal. Forget about the Dorset cup if we don’t get 3 points on Saturday then the new board may as well save their money now and allow the management to prove they should be given an opportunity to get us promoted next season. But I don’t think there is a any basis at this point to think the current situation can be reversed. I’m pleased we haven’t done what nearly every club would have done at this stage and sack our manager. But at this point, based on James’ record in its entirety, I don’t think many of us can say with any certainty that there isn’t any managers out there that can produce more than what we are getting.

Fair points, Yogi, and thanks for the suggestions. Typically I have to leave reasonably soon after a home game to send in my report to the N-LP, and, often, take an elderly friend or two home. So it's difficult to find somewhere indoors at that time where it's quiet. Regarding a sponsors backdrop for interviews, we do have one. If you look at TBTV's highlights you'll see it attached to the fencing to the left of the goal at the estate houses end. Maybe not the ideal place for conducting interviews. The Club is aware, and Paula has asked for it to be moved to the back of the stand nearest the clubhouse. And, hopefully, the perspex sheeting recently placed on the side of the stand should keep out most of the wind. It's my first season of filming the post-match interviews as well as conducting them, so please be patient and we'll see what we can do to improve the sound quality. Graham

On paper yesterday we had a very strong team, what with the return of Louis Kellaway and the inclusion of 3 National League players on loan. I'm just wondering if this disjointed the team in some way as I believe they have only been with us for a week and playing two games a week doesnt allow much for training to get them into the way of things.
Also it has to be said but loan signings, especially of this number, don't get into the team spirit when things don't go to plan and dont get as committed as regular team mates. Further there is a fear of getting injured again when they come on loan to a club to get match fit after an injury.
I have gone along with the feeling that we have to trust in James and Gambo. We certainly have to give them a chance now there is money available. We should find out on Monday how much support the new BoD will give them. But we all know that Directors will tell us one thing but when Managers continually lose there is a change of heart. However we do have one excellent replacement within the club - Matty Holmes.

Thanks Graham your work is appreciated. Disillusionedmagpie I am unsure how you can call for the management to be given time to rebuild the squad whilst the also hint at a replacement. If one thing is certain time is something that we don’t have is survival is our aim. Which is why I alluded to the fact the board stick with the management and save funds for the rebuild next season or make a change hope for the new management bounce and hope that a new manager can bring fresh energy and impetus to match the new boards. It’s worth noting that Hendon aren’t exactly title challengers and until Saturday weren’t many points away from the pack we are chasing down yet we lost comprehensively 4-1. The questions to be asked to the board both new and previous are: Is staying this league Our immediate priority? If not why waste funds following the same direction of travel. if it is the priority, then based on all we have seen, do we genuinely believe this current management give us the very best chance of achieving that objective?

You make some good points merelymagpie, save money and restart next season or go for it and hope that works, again I go back to the fact stokes and gambo had what was a competitive budget last season (due to supposed lower budgets at other clubs) and we’re doing okay when the league finished and got the club the best day cup run in nearly 30 years. Of course they are young and have a lot to learn but given the right tools at the start of the season and I think they would have done well again. It’s very tough to replace them given they by the boards own words at the fans forum not given a fair fight

They were doing ok, but that’s if we are basing performance on a league that didn’t finish and I imagine everyone knew it wouldn’t finish. So I’m unsure how much of a accurate barometer that is. Focusing on what’s relevant, the here and now , it’s clear they knew hand that was dealt to them and had 8 months without the pressure of having winning games to get there house in order prior and prepare themselves/ team/club for the task of survival. Having Just re-read Gambo’s post, I think I would prefer my management to do their talking on the training ground and on a day to day basis rather than present a tonne of caveats for their performance, when I’m sure the conversations between the board and management prior to the season consisted of the budget restraints but also the objective of staying up, so I’m not sure this should be continually used as explanation for the current league position. If you take a job knowing you are under equipped then you either don’t take the job or you do whatever is possible to equip yourself adequately. Ultimately, the job is the job, the criteria hasn’t changed since the summer so you succeed or fail on that basis and at this point If the remit was staying up, it looks like a failure. In any case as I said this isnt advocating a managerial change, I am asking the question of what the new boards immediate priority is. If it’s staying up then it’s would seem negligent and a waste resources continuing on the current trajectory. If it’s backing the current management whatever the results, then I think they need to save as much of their resources as possible, because even in the league below we could be having the same conversations about budgets as we are having now, as there are some very highly geared teams in the league below, not all of them can come up this season and Im sure the management talking about budgets constraints in league below, will fall on less sympathetic ears than it currently does now.

So what your saying is you can’t judge the management on the games played last season because it was void, mid table and impressive cup run, much better than danny, Matty , cussy, Alex Simon Browne the list goes on. Ok we can all agree leader position and form at present is poor at best, but look at farnborough, poor last season same manner massive budget this and now top, coaching will only get so far if players are not up to the levels required.

Playing devils advocate magpiesfan, I didnt dismiss it at all, I was just saying those facts should be taken into consideration with that stat line the same way the current lack of results is being mitigated by the budget. As Ive said previously, I'm on the fence regarding the management, have I seen enough to suggest they are going to guide us to success? No. Have they maximised the capabilities of the squad? No. I think we could have seen a better organised, better disciplined and more consistent side irrespective of the players supposed lack ability. Do I think they are performing better than anyone else out there could in the circumstance? No. BUT.. that said there is absolutely no point making a change for the sake of it. It depends what our short to medium term objectives are. It maybe that the new boards vision is best served by giving the management the chance to grow with the club. My only concern is the calls for more time to be given in order to let the management build a relagation escaping side whilst we continue to loose games every week. If we are hell bent staying it up, the two lines of thought seem conflicted. Thats why I feel this weeks result followed bythe forum will tell us where our ambitions lie.

Again I get what your saying, but surely if you can only afford players that are Wessex league players, and most of what we could afford/have are from Wessex league teams, then surely you can only organise them to a certain degree, surely the better players at better teams will eventually find the weak points in the team and exploit it. I’m of the opinion the management can’t be given fair judgement of their abilities until the are working on a level playing field, and going back to previous threads on here that very hard to do during the season I would Imagine How do you think they could be more organised? Don’t you see this in the premier league with Norwich Newcastle losing most weeks at the bottom, Dover in the conference, Barnsley have won 2 games in 21 in the the championship, lower team budget will poorer player all see. To be at the bottom of every league
