I think there's more than 4 players good enough. Young, Beale, Gunson, Morrison, Maybury, Strugnall, Scorey & Morgan come to mind. It's common sense that a bigger budget and the right players available, that a better squad could be built. We have to remember, midway through a season is a tough time to bring players in, espeically when the majotiry at southern leageue level are on contracts. If all of these players are of Southern League quality we do we find ourselves bottom of the league... I will agree with you to that it is difficult to attract players mid season but with last season being cut short the BOD and management team had six months to put together a playing budget and squad capable of competing at Southern League level.

Yogi, do you really think the management have any input on the budget, they get given a figure then have to work with it. Looking back at the forum questions you asked one of them was about the stands being sponsored, do you even attend games as you will see that they have.

Can I also just applaud the quality of your highlights. An excellent service for someone like me who can't attend every single game. Of course you can! Always happy to hear from a beneficiary of what I do - makes it worthwhile 👍

For sure players come and go at this level for a variety of reasons but I think it always stings a little more when it’s a player that has come through from the development squad due to the time and effort put in by the club and staff to try and bring through some young players.
Just on the topic of player movement, by my reckoning over the past 3-4 weeks we have now lost Aidan Shepherd, Jake Sinclair, Josh Hanratty and now Addwell and have not brought in any new outfield players despite having a paper thin squad. I also note that the deal for the 2 new players hit the buffers last week for whatever reason.
Are there really no players available for loan from Weymouth, Eastleigh, AFC Bournemouth, Southampton, Portsmouth?

The BoD's stated aim to develop players and bring them through to the first team is in tatters. It was obvious to anyone that it wouldnt work. Unlike Football League clubs who do this and have players on a lengthy contract, at our level all you have is the 7 day approach whereby any club can come in for a player at 7 days notice, even if we have them on contract. We may be able to demand a small transfer fee but its little compensation for all the hard work a club has put in to develop them. The only thing that seems to work in non-league to keep a player is to pay them a good wage.

I note with interest, the comments on here saying we have the lowest player wage budget in the league.
My question is why? The latest average attendance table in the programme I’m looking at has Wimborne as the 4th highest. Add to that, we have been given a gift wrapped new stadium which now gives the club the ability to generate more income 7 days a week, charging for car parking, Sunday roast dinners, coffee and cake during the week etc.
Why are teams that average 200 less people a week per game and have to pay large rent to play at their stadium, able to pay out more than we can for players?

From what I hear most clubs don’t have the wage budget made up from what the club can generate financially, most of it comes from wealthy benefactors in the back ground willing to put thousands a week to top up the budgets, I’m guessing Wimborne don’t have this

The only thing that seems to work in non-league to keep a player is to pay them a good wage. I think that is true. Many years ago, say 10-15, most of the players lived locally and had an affinity with the club, it was their club, maybe their Dad had played for Wim. Life today is different, they drive nice cars and are mobile, they can go where the money is. To get a player to stay at one club nowadays must be scarcer than finding rocking horse teeth, just the one in my memory ... Scotty. It is a grand dream but in reality I, like you can't see it happening as a permanent fixture. The other question is, how many players have Wim taken from other Academies?

I have no idea what the management think of any of the players but I'm pretty sure that if Aidan & Addwell had been given more game time they would still be at the club ! In addition, if the management knew that there would be limited opportunities for them to get game time with the first team, why were they not put out on loan elsewhere until such time as they had more experience. At least that way we would have had an option to bring them back in the future. Young players like that want to play football and if the club cannot involve them in the first team enough or give them an option to go out on loan, what are they expected to do ?

I’m sure looking at it the management have had faith in all the lads, aidan started the first 3 games then played good chunks of the next 3 games after which he left, regan started then came out and has recently been back in. Addwell has been in and out as has jake and cam. Everyone moans that the team is young and not enough quality/experience but then experience comes with a cost which it doesn’t look like the club have at this level. Maybe the lads done want to play lower level and try at this level. Have you been brave enough to speak to gambo or stokes about why they haven’t got the lads on loan like they did with the keeper that’s been at shaftsbury or do you just hide behind a name on here??

I will leave it at that and let the real 'fan's' come to their own conclusions.

So because I watch the games and have seen how much the lads in question have played and put forward a sensible argument you think I’m connected to the club. I presume your be at the fans forum Monday as you you can then air your views, before you ask no I won’t be but then I don’t come on here moaning about most things
