If this is correct and he has gone to Poole Town we really should be asking some serious questions...
Why would he want to go there...
Have they promised him more money, more playing time?
What is the point of investing in a youth and development system if we are just going to let players walk out the door.
Was it the players desire to leave or did the club want to reinvested his wages into further signing(s) (goal keeper)

What's the point in hanging on to players if the management don't think they're good enough? Assuming that's what's happened? He look ok in pre-season and cup games. But the few league games I've seen him in, he's not been up to the level needed in the Southern League.
Hopefully his wages can be re-invested in the squad.
Have we recalled Alex Cull? Is he playing tomorrow? An extremely good goalkeeper from the games I've seen him play in and from what I've heard from people who've seen him play in the Wessex League this season.

We will never know what he’s been offered at poole, we have to accept that poole are a bigger club and have been for years, tony lee, burbs holmsey all left because poole are a bigger more established club. Is addwell ready for southern league football on a regular basis. As good as he is/could be is he what we need to be worried about at the moment?

Poole Town obviously think that he is ready for Southern League football... Why else would they sign him.
What makes Poole Town a bigger club than Wimborne?
We both play in the same league and we have far better facilities.
If paying more money to players makes you a bigger club then I guess you are correct.

I get what your saying but there are plenty of other players in our current squad who are also not up to the level of playing in the Southern League !! If none of the youngster's are ever going to be good enough for our 1st team then what is the point of the club's academy/reserve team and the so called 'pathway' ? Seems pointless to me if all we are doing is developing players for other club's due to our short sightedness !

So are you saying he will play every week over at poole or more than he has at Wimborne, I bet he ends up duel reg with a Wessex team in the next month Pool may not have our level of facilities but they allway finish higher, bigger budget and played higher level of football so obviously a bigger club

Name the players buzzer, I’m sure the club would be happy for you to top the wage budget up to get what you think are better players

I think that fact he played for Poole U23s last night speaks volumes! We shall see in the next for few weeks! Let's hope for some signings in the coming days & a positive result on tomorrow.

There are about 4 players in the current squad good enough for the Southern League.. our current league position is evidence of this..
If James and Mark had a bigger budget 80% of the current squad would be moved on..

It's called management !

I think there's more than 4 players good enough. Young, Beale, Gunson, Morrison, Maybury, Strugnall, Scorey & Morgan come to mind. It's common sense that a bigger budget and the right players available, that a better squad could be built. We have to remember, midway through a season is a tough time to bring players in, espeically when the majotiry at southern leageue level are on contracts.

Player movement is a regular occurrence and isn’t something that you should get bent out of shape over. Many a time have I typed out a name from a team sheet and thought “Hang on, I’m sure he was at club X last week”.
Young players (and some old) often think the grass is greener and act on impulse & promises - there’s not a lot a lot anyone can do about it once their head is turned.
Sometimes a player is just not a good “fit” (e.g Holmes at Salisbury) or the management might think they don’t have the right attitude, or their personal circumstances don’t fit any more - not everything comes down to money or any perceived lack of ambition.
Some decisions are not in the hands of the officials, BOD (or whoever today’s scapegoat of choice is) and won’t seem logical to anyone on the outside and, to be frank, it’s nobody else’s business on why they may want to move on.
If increased blood pressure is your thing, by all means keep worrying about the things you can’t influence and will never know the details of.

All good points Tony. Can I also just applaud the quality of your highlights. An excellent service for someone like me who can't attend every single game.
