Going in at half time 0-1 down to a Paulton penalty the Magpies turned it around in the 2nd half through, Jez Bedford [50], Asa Phillips [53] and Aaron Roberts[ 75], before Paulton got another penalty.

Well that was more like it in the second half, a good home win, lots of goals, big contribution from our 2 new signings and all in front of a really good crowd, let’s hope they all come back next week 😊
Special mention too to Jez Bedford who’s been playing really well the last few weeks and showing what a good player he is. Apologies if I’ve missed it but where was Bealey yesterday?
Here’s to our first away win at Totton on Tuesday 🤞

Apologies if I’ve missed it but where was Bealey yesterday? Here’s to our first away win at Totton on Tuesday 🤞 You wont believe this but Bealey was on holiday I was told. Not sure if he's available for Totton away on Tuesday or Slimbridge on Saturday. Personally I don't think semi-pro footballers who are on contract should go on holiday during the football season, if they are fit and well, which I presume he is. |

Thanks for letting me know, I was more concerned he might have been injured or something. I do get where you’re coming from, but I’m not sure the lads earn enough at this level for us to mandate no holidays during the season. Most of the lads have full time jobs and may well have to take their holidays around that. |

Agree Gemma. It’s not for us to comment. His contract may have allowed a pre booked holiday when he signed
Looking forward to him playing upside Asa! Oh and I thought Shane was outstanding on Saturday also! Already both have added a little extra imho

I’m not sure about the contract conversation, too me if you want to play semi professional non league football, whatever you agree under your terms of that contract you should make sure your available during that contract period, they don’t get payed in the off season or during pre season so have your holidays then ?

With regard to “wages” in semi-amateur football, or semi-professional if you prefer, several young lads were sat in front of us in the stand on Saturday. During a brief break for a sub whatever, Connal Morrison came over and took a drink from a bottle on the sideline. One of the lads jumped up to the fence and asked if he could have Connal’s boots to which Connal replied that he only had one pair. The lad turned away and went “Pfft, he says he’s only got that pair but theyre all millionaires!” Out of the mouths of babes, at least we now know how the system works. |
