The Board of Wimborne Town Football Club is delighted to announce that Tim Sills has accepted the role of Manager of Wimborne Town Football Club.
The club received a number of high quality applications and after a careful selection and interview process we felt Tim and his staff were the standout candidates. Tim is a young and hungry manager that fits the profile we are looking for whilst having achieved great success with Hamworthy United.
Tim and his staff will be taking training this week ahead of his first match in charge against Willand Rovers on Saturday.
On a personal note I'm thrilled with Tim's appointment along with the majority of his Hamworthy backroom staff - assistant manager Chris Senior, coach Michael Legg & goalkeeping coach Ben Sullivan. They've done a tremendous job at Hamworthy over the last couple of years and they sit above us in the league following promotion from the Wessex League as Champions. They've built a tight knit, hard working squad and I can't wait to see what Tim can do with our talented group of players.
Tim will be finalising the remainder of his backroom team over the coming weeks but key personnel Luke Hardy & Bill Coleman will remain as a coach and physio respectively and provide some continuity.
No doubt you'll join me in wishing Tim and his team the best of luck managing the Magpies!
Lee

Best of luck to Tim, it’s a fantastic club with amazing people!
I shall be moving on. Had many great years and loved every minute of it! Hopefully the club can get to where it deserves to be and I’ll be down to watch when I can!
Up the mags!

I did wonder what effect the shoddy treatment Hamworthy Utd received at the hands of Dorset FA would have. There’s your answer.
But .. Great appointment for Tim, his team and the club.

I for one am happy with this appointment - I followed hamworthys fa vase journey last season from round 4 onwards after I watched them when we had a game rained off and got hooked. He has done very well to get a team with a DPL heritage and average gates of 100 or so into step 4 and the top half Of the table.
Well done Lee and the board and welcome Tim and crew.

Wessex league champs last season with 99 points and leaves hamworthy sitting six places above us in the table with just one defeat to our four despite what I am sure was a less expensively assembled squad...... Not sure why some folks are less than enthusiastic - At least we didn't get Steve Bruce who was sacked again today 😃😃😃

I'm a little underwhelmed and quite surprised. Most fans seemed to be calling for someone with experience. However he has had good success in his short time in management. I don't think the HU team has exceptional talent but he seemed to get them all playing for each other and in unity so hope he can do the same here. The play offs could be a possibility I will admit if his success continues. But he will have to remember fans expectations are high and we can be fickle beasts if things start turning sour. I hope he can take the pressure.

I know some fans i've spoken too are not too sure about his appointment. But on reflection i'm sure its a positive appointment. let's hope he can get the team motivated and we can move on up the table. I dont think any of the players at Hamworthy are better than any here except Sean Murphy is a proven keeper at this level and above. I wonder if we will see him come over as well?

I agree with this. Tim and his staff have a proven record at Hamworthy and with our squad should soon have us moving up the table. Well done Lee and the board and welcome Tim and crew.

Given that this evening was Tim's first training session, and that the BoD were waiting to meet him and his management team, our new manager gave me ten minutes of his time for a first interview. I've sent it to Scott to post on the website, maybe tonight else tomorrow. I suggest you keep an eye on the Club's facebook and twitter pages. Graham

He comes across very well. I know there's been a somewhat muted reaction on here so far but I remain upbeat. Not quite sure who people expected to get (jurgen klopp??). Realistically unlikely to be a step 3 manager so surely someone from our own league who is clearly ambitious and has a winning record, albeit a step down, is a positive. Looking forward to Saturday now.
