I think that Ollie Cherret would be a good fit at Wimborne. He has done well at both Christchurch and Shaftsbury and has shown how to manage a winning side. He has earned the chance to show what he can do at this level. I do however believe that there will be a strong list of candidates for the position.

I'm sure the WTFC Board will have their views and targets, but from us as supporters, whilst me might differ slightly in our views, there have been some positive comments for Louis Langdown, Ollie Cherrett and Brian Stock, all of which I feel would be good appointments. Time will tell I guess?

I know that it’s only been 4 days since the news that we were looking for a new manager but I wonder if Lee could update us with the timescale for a new appointment, are we hoping to have someone in place for next Saturdays match?
And also who is looking after the team temporarily, I’m guessing that they would train a couple of times this week with no midweek game?

Quick update as requested by Gemma.
I met with the players Tuesday evening to bring them up to speed ahead of training and then had a quick interview with Radio Solent. Luke Hardy is taking training with Scott Arnold assisting and - aside from the departed James & Mark - all the backroom staff remain. Of course whether that's the case long term will be a decision for the new manager which they understand.
The list of applicants has been long and there are plenty of quality applicants which is a testament to how people view our club and something we should all be proud of, it does though mean its going to be a real tough decision! The first interview is Thursday afternoon but we are also still collating names. Ideally we will have someone in place for training on Thursday 13th but we've a lot to get through and the interviewers / interviewees have day jobs to juggle as well so I can't guarantee the 13th but that's the current plan!

Thank you very much for taking the time to give us the update Lee.
It all sounds very promising, good luck with the interviews and we look forward to hearing the final decision/appointment 😊

Hi Lee,
Thank you for the update, very good to hear about the high quality of candidates.
A couple of the staff have been around for many years and it’s be a shame to see them leave and a bit of heart & soul removed.
Looking forward to what the next couple of days bring and hopefully some updates.

They don’t need a caretaker manager as such if they hope to appoint a new manager before the next game.

So has anyone heard any rumours on who applied for the position and who made the shortlist for interview?

Are you able to provide any further updates, Lee? How many people have been interviewed and are we any nearer to appointing a new manager?
I appreciate it's probably been a very busy weekend for you!
