Louis Langdown (ex Totton Manager and assistant to Brian Stock at Eastleigh) Jason Matthews (Ex Weymouth manager and now keeper coach at Salisbury) Craig Davis (Winchester City manager) Paul Morris (Bashley manager) Callum Brooks (ex Dorchester manager) Luke Hardy (current first team coach and Eastleigh academy) Christer Warren (current reserve team manager) Mikey Harris (ex Salisbury manager and Portsmouth academy)
By the way, this is not me advocating all of the above candidates, just listing possibilities.

£50 says it will be Ollie Cherret. It will definitely not be anyone connected to AFCB. Good call Bazzer but the job will prove very attractive so there are going to be a lot of applicants. I dont have a spare £50 (need it to pay for boiling the kettle this morning ) but I will bet you a pint in the clubhouse next match if you like. Certainly exiting times ahead and a spirit of real optisimum.

And a new contender this morning after yesterday's collapse, Erik Ten Hag.

For what its worth, these are my thoughts on the names currently circulating:
Louis Langdown - excellent shout, but would he leave his role at Eastleigh?
Jason Matthews - don't know too much about him
Craig Davis - why would he leave his current role with Winchester?
Paul Morris - why would he leave his current role with Bashley?
Callum Brooks - thought Callum has retired from football to concentrate on his work and family?
Luke Hardy - no previous managerial experience
Christer Warren - as far as I'm aware, very little managerial experience
Mikey Harris - thought he had recently taken a new role with Saints?
Warren Cummings - as far as I'm aware, no previous managerial experience
Ollie Cherret - good experience and success in Wessex League
Brian Stock - good shout, but would he leave his role at Eastleigh?
Tim Sills - why would he leave his current role with Hamworthy?
James Wood - why would he leave his current role with Dorchester?
Taffy Richardson - good shout, but wouldn't this be going down the route we have just had?
Scott Arnold - would be the fans favourite, but no managerial experience
Joe Roach - excellent shout, but why would be leave his role at AFCB?
Tommy Elphick - good shout, but why would be leave his role at AFCB?
Brett Pitman - still playing and currently being paid a small fortune in the Wessex League
Matt Tubbs - as far as I'm aware, no previous managerial experience
Alan Connell - why would he leave his current role with AFCB?
Shaun Cooper - why would he leave his current role with AFCB?
Ok, if the club are willing to spend big, many of the names on the current list might be gettable, but in realistic terms, I would like to see Langdown, Cherrett, or one of the AFCB coaches on board as soon as possible.
As I say, just my thoughts, and no doubt many will have different views?

A good summary above ⬆️
Throwing money at it doesn’t guarantee anything except emptier pockets.
Ollie Cherrett is experienced, has achieved success at two Wessex Premier outfits and is unattached. I’d be amazed if he weren’t a very serious candidate.

And a new contender this morning after yesterday's collapse, Erik Ten Hag. 😃😃 Ralph Hasenhutti should also be on the look out for a new job after Southampton play Manchester City on Saturday. I see another 9-0 defeat comming. That said, Wreck-it Ralph has a team that can't score goals and gives away too many so probably not what Wimborne want

Who is next in line for the Managers job.. Ollie Cherret Brian Stock Tim Sills James Wood Taffy Richardson Scott Arnold Joe Roach It was on this forum that some years ago someone mentioned Matty Holmes. We went ahead and the rest you can say is history. A sad day for James and Mark, super guysx and lovely family, but it was never to be,for many reasons, most I have written. Unfortunately football doesn't work with romanticism or sounds like a good idea. The current board nailed their sails to the mast when they extended their contract. I have no confidence in them or the old farts. We need a clear out, fresh thinking, practical thinking, and not allow the club to be the masseuse for other people's egos

If we’re serious about progressing as a club then Ollie Cherret is not the answer. He’s had one good run at Xchurch. I personally would like somebody with either some good playing experience in the game or southern league managerial expierience.

Agreed Ollie Cherrett has only managed in the Wessex and not done anything more than James had done. Be a pointless change. Louis Langdown managed totton to mid table in this league again not really a massive improvement on what we had. I think Brian stock would probably be best but would he leave as assistant at Eastleigh and does he know this level of football

I personally would like somebody with either some good playing experience in the game or southern league managerial expierience. I’ve no skin in this game but having witnessed much of this first-hand, feel it isn’t accurate to characterise Cherrett as having had “one good run”. He got Christchurch promoted from Wessex One to the Prem, consolidated for a season & then COVID intervened. During those two affected seasons, his team were consistent enough to collect enough points per game to be offered promotion to the Southern League (but the club refused it). Moving on to Shaftesbury for 2021/22, they finished 3rd behind Hamworthy Utd & Bashley, so not exactly a disgrace, whilst also landing the Wessex League Cup. Scatter in some incredible cup runs in the FA competitions and you’ve got an accurate representation. It’s always interesting to see someone make the transition from playing to managing - let’s face it, most managers played at some level at some point of their footballing careers, but it’s not a gamble I’d take myself. When I’m interviewing at my day job, I recruit someone with experience every single time rather than take a punt on potential. I guess it depends if the Board are feeling lucky!

I agree with you Tony. Shaftesbury started slowly but had an incredible run last season, just missing out on an automatic place and look how Christchurch have struggled since he left (I was there for the vase game against Falmouth and remember the FA cup run). I'd favour someone who has achieved managerial success at multiple clubs, even if at a lower level, than a brand new manager. We all love James and Gambo but at the end of the day they were managerial novices when they took on the role at wimborne. I hope we don't go that route again now.
