As many of you will know, I’ve been the main advocate on the forum (although I speak to many at the games who agree) for a managerial change, and it only comes from a desire to see the team achieve better results. I do appreciate that it must have been a difficult decision for Lee and the board, particularly given their friendship with James and the high esteem at which he’s held within the club. Ultimately, however, the results and performances just haven’t been good enough given the investment they must have put in this season to bring in the calibre of players that we now have in the squad.
It has never been personal against James and Mark who were already club legends long before they took the managerial reigns and therefore I want to echo all of the kind words that have been said about them on here and thank them for their efforts which have never been in doubt.
They’ve absolutely given their all, and despite my opinions posted on here, I don’t take any sort of personal satisfaction from them not managing to achieve success, as I’ve said many times before I wanted them to prove me wrong and build a winning side but alas it wasn’t to be.
It was a difficult decision but it was the right one, we need to move on now and appoint somebody who can match ambitions and get the team winning matches on a more regular basis.

Congratulations Gemma, you’ve got your wish, I just hope whoever gets the job next gets your backing or improves the results you want or you will be back on here hounding another manager.

I’m not going to reply to any of your goading on here, as per usual you are repeating your “I’m not a true fan” “Don’t go to any games nonsense” just because I have a different view to yours. This is also not a case of Gemma has got her own way. I have/had no influence on the decision made by the board. They put their money in and therefore it is their prerogative who they wish to appoint as manager. I’m just a mere fan giving my opinion on a discussion forum.

A sad day. I’d like to thank James and Mark for their commitment, energy and enthusiasm, and vast amount of time they’ve put into their roles at WTFC. At times I’m sure they put their roles ahead of family, so I’m grateful to wives and children for their understanding.
On a personal note, James has been brilliant in doing update interviews during the close season, including one when he came over from Eastleigh just to film a 15-minute chat. Even when results were tough last season, he never shied away from doing a post-match interview, and was always polite and considerate. And a couple of times he came to find me to do them. A pleasure to work with - top man.

Gemma… I don’t agree with many things you’ve said… the… at first glance your comments and anti James and group sentiment… But, your comments above are spot on… And Graham you really sum up the man doing the job … He’s a laid back man (so Laura told me)… but I hope through the comments on this site he recognises the respect for him from all at WTFC…

Congratulations Gemma, you’ve got your wish, I just hope whoever gets the job next gets your backing or improves the results you want or you will be back on here hounding another manager. A bit over the top wimbornefan. You've always come over as being too close to the management team. Your comments smack of a disrespectful attitude of someone who really cares about the direction the club was going. I'm sure you yourself are as passionate about the club as we all are. But your loyalty to the management team seem to come before an overall loyalty of what was happening to the club. Very commendable but it didnt take in the bigger picture.
James and Gambo have gone so we need to move on and support whoever will take over. As a supporter though we reserve the right to express our own views on this forum in an honest way and sensible way
Incidentally I do not know who Gemma is, and have no connection to Gemma.

I’m just a old boy who enjoyed watching James play for years and think he’s one of the best players we’ve ever had and always took the time to speak to me at the ground. He stepped in a very difficult time and got nothing but abuse From Gemma, who sits behind her keyboard and after many offers from James and other fans wouldn’t meet anyone, so for me hiding from that then became a personal vendetta towards him. Just my opinion and some will disagree I’m sure

I believe all of us on this Forum fully appreicate the work that James has put in at the club. I fully believe that given time and more experience, he will go on to be a very suscessful manager. This job, at this time has proved to be too much but that no reason to rule out a future suscessful return to the club.
