I was there today, the first half was the best 45 mins I’ve watched for a long time very enjoyable, we had three great chances never took any of them, the second half Melksham had three goal chances and converted all of them ! We’ve not won away from home for a year !! Unfortunately the issues are the same issues every week we don’t put the ball in the net ? James only had Lewis available today, Jack had Flu, Harry Baker still not available due to illness. Is it the managers fault or the players ? Barry my disappointment at the second half collapse has probably coloured my memory of the first half but would you agree that although we created good chances we didn't really force many saves from the keeper? Getting beaten and not really making the opposition keeper work hard is a worry. The first half was however much improved on sholing. Very frustrating though when a team who hasn't troubled you much scores three goals from few chances. Your right it’s so frustrating coming away with nothing again, you can see the players are once again lacking in confidence for whatever reason ? |

Really enjoyable first half. Much better sustained start to the game. New goalkeeper seemed confident and loves coming out for crosses! We need a focal point up front. Someone to hold the ball up and play off of. Desperate for things to turn for James, Gambo and the team.

I am trying hard to wait to see where we are after 10 games as thats a reasonable number of games to get a true idea of where we are. I must admit James is living a charmed life at the moment. At the beginning of the season there was so much expectation which is dwindling away fast. Do we really care what we do this season as long as we don't get relegated ? What about the money men who have bought the club. How are they dealing with the situation ? James has a contract till the end of the season we were told. I havent got any answers - just disappointment.

After yet another defeat it is quite clear that changes need to be made.
It is all very well and good saying that we created chances and played well for 70 miniuts but we once again picked up no points.
As I have previously said, we have a good suqad this season and should be doing better than we are.
I did not see todays game but from reading the views on here, the narative is getting repetative: played well, didn't convert our chances, make mistakes at the back and let in goals.
There is still a lot of the season left but if things are left as they are we are in danger of sliding into mid table at best.
If the current management team are not able to bring about better results, we need to bring in people who can

I wouldn’t say it was mistakes that cost us the goals today, the only mistake i could see was not scoring when on top, it really does make a difference when your in front and killing off games

I wouldn’t say it was mistakes that cost us the goals today, the only mistake i could see was not scoring when on top, it really does make a difference when your in front and killing off games This has been the same problem for 14 months, once again Lewis was left up front on his own, he runs his legs off getting nowhere, We miss two may be three chances game after game after game, It needs sorting out sooner rather later, all the Players looked totally disheartened after the game, that’s one hell of a job to be able to get them all back on side ?🤞🤞🤞 🤍🖤⚽️ |

For Forum members, here's my report of the game: Melksham 3 Wimborne 1 - 1.10.22.doc (38.5 KB) It should appear on the Club's website later today. I conducted a post-match interview with James, which I've sent to Scott. However, it was very blustery, and we had to do it outside. I tried to protect the microphone as best I could but the sound quality isn't good. I've left it to Scott to decide whether to post it or not. If not, I'll precis what James said and post that. |

We can go back and forth all day on this.
The fact is we the budget cannot be blamed any longer. Whether it’s 1, 2, or 3 up front these are players the staff have decided to sign and they need to be held accountable for that. If Lewis isn’t scoring goals as Barry and WimborneFan are saying then why is he constantly being selected? Why haven’t we got another striker in, even on a loan? For all I know James may or tried that.
If so then drop him. If he’s not scoring then they may as well play a Harry Morgan up there.
Like I said, we can argue this all day but we’ve lost more than we’ve won in what’s a season we should be top 3 and that’s a fact.

Graham… thank you .. as always a very comprehensive report… which I know supporters really appreciate. I think the report shows what a game it really was .. certainly the first half… and puts things into perspective… crikey we had enough shots… just need the same quantity but on target… And re-reading your report again Graham… the players are working better together, making good opportunities… and by the sounds of it playing better football…just need the goals to follow.. And I’m sure the players and Manager knows this as well…
