Lloyd Thomas signs from AFC Totton, really good signing so well done to all involved in getting that one done.
Saw Lloyd play quite a few times for Weymouth, 6ft 4, a big dominant presence in between the sticks.
I wonder where this leaves Tom Parker Trott?

I personally thought Tom was a superb young keeper who would and still will develop into a top Southern League goalkeeper. The mistakes he made were mainly with his distribution and some responsibility on that has to fall at the style of playing out from the back when he clearly wasn’t comfortable doing it.
I think it’s the right decision to take him out for a few games though as you can tell his confidence was low. He’s very young for a goalkeeper at this level. Has Tom left the club or is he staying on?
On a plus side, it’s good to see James and his staff make a bold decision.
Onwards and upwards. Hoping to hear of a positive result tomorrow.

I had seen TPT play a few times before he joined Wimborne Town and to be fair to him, he did not do himself justice recently, and suspect that a few early mistakes had totally ****tered his confidence.
Obviously if a keeper makes a mistake, it often leads to a goal and the team losing, but mistakes by others such as missed tackles, misplaced passes or missed chances should certainly not be ignored. Whilst they do not necessarily lead to the team losing, they do go someway to the team not winning, which has been the case at times this season.
Good luck to Lloyd, from what I hear and read he is a good keeper, so hopefully the results will start to improve soon, starting tomorrow against Melksham Town.

After coming through the ranks of hometown club AFC Portchester, Thomas moved onto Blackfield & Langley.
Further spells in the Wessex Premier with Andover Town and Horndean followed, before Thomas stepped up to Step Three as back-up goalkeeper to Jordan Seabright and Tom McHale at Weymouth.
The 6ft 4in-tall shot-stopper made eight appearances as the Terras won the Southern Premier title, before departing Weymouth ahead of the two COVID-curtailed campaigns.
As non-league football returned to operating as normal, Thomas joined Carshalton Athletic, making 50 appearances last campaign.
He joined afc Totton in May of this year

I think this is a good move and shows proactive management. I wish Tom all the best. It's a harsh reality that when you play in goal any mistakes are magnified and have a car greater impact on the result than if you are in any other position.
Hope Lloyd gets off to a good start this Saturday, assuming he starts at melksham.
