Westbury scored at 25 & 88 mins. Magpies goal by Baker on 75 mins. Westbury scored the winner when we were down to 10 men after using all our subs after Rose was injured.

We are now 14th in the league
The Willand Rvrs v Lymington game was Abandoned after a serious injury to Lymington No 11 Freddie Bullard [Willand were leading 1-0 at the time.
Hamworthy Utd were held to a 1-1 draw with Slimbridge at home [ Att 152 ]
In the premier south Poole Town won 2-1 at Merthyr
In the EPL Afcb lost 9-0 at Liverpool

One win and two defeats from our opening three games is a very poor return on the investment made in the squad over the summer.
Performances and results need to improve soon if we are to challenge for promotion.

There was the ten minute spell in the second half but nothing else. Defensively, we look vulnerable. Still early.

It is still early but we need to learn quick! They celebrated in their changing room like they had won the Cup! All teams will see us as a scalp and raise their game! We need to understand this and adapt. As Barry said a repeat of Exmouth. This time the pitch did not play any part. They were up for it!

Echo the above comments. Toothless in the first half and after we equalised following a good spell we took our foot off the gas and they started pressing us. It's clear this is a more physical league and teams are happy to use all the tricks in the book to try and unsettle us. We need to learn and learn quickly as it's frustrating to see last season's defensive frailty showing its head again. Other than the result and performance I very much enjoyed my trip to a very friendly and well organised club.

This was the first Wimborne game I have seen this season. The team looked without a game plan and secondly there was no evidence at all that some if not most have played at a higher level. Very poor to say the least. Hopefully we can bounce back against a very poor Lymo side ( I wish their player a speedy recovery by the way 27/08/2022)

I didn’t attend .. but the result was obviously disappointing… So … James and team… we learn, take note and go again… You’re a good team, great management support and great skills… Easy to say but just do what you’re really good at… Here’s to Monday…

You can buy a new ship and replace all the crew but if you still have the same captain steering …..
I know we had lots of debate about this last year but the main defence was that we didn’t have a good enough budget or good enough players, we definitely do have now with the squad that’s been put together and we are playing in a lower division so there can’t be any more excuses for the poor results.
And before the usual jump on me for being critical, even some of the most very loyal supporters have described it above as frustrating, didn’t look like they had a game plan, toothless, the pitch played no part and the other team were more up for it.

I was very complimentary during pre-season and of the squad and backroom staff that you have put together but with that and the fact that we are in a lower division comes higher expectations, 1 win out of 3 and the manner of the defeats isn’t a good start you must agree James? Anyway I’m a fan at the end of the day and when I’m at the games I’ll be right behind you all as usual for the whole 90 minutes but at the end of the day I’m just being honest and call it as I see it. |
