This has been said on here before but I wonder how much exposure is given to selling club shop items on matchdays.
You have to agree but the club shop isnt that well sited for matchdays. I feel sure if it was brought to the fore by having a table in the main hall up by the windows, or even better outside if the weather is good, a lot more kits, caps, etc etc would be sold. You wouldnt have to bring a lot of gear out of the shop but just enough to remind fans of what they can buy to support the club. You would get more impulse buying instead of fans just finding the shop deliberately.

Been saying exactly the same thing Mr squat, its not in a place that attracts footfall. I tried to find an online link on the website yesterday to buy something. Gave up as I couldn't find it.

I attended the Cinderford game . I have a battered WTFC Cap and it has crossed my mind to get a new cap. I think I know where the club shop is. I believe I walked past it to get to the toilets. I wasnt sure if it was open - there was no sign, or anything outide , and it didnt look very inviting to go in.
But if there had been a table as has been suggested then I would definitely have bought a new cap. Perhaps next time ?

Regarding the Club Shop, I am sure you will all be delighted to know that we had bumper sales on Saturday at the Cinderford match and we actually sold out of the much coveted new white caps. There is a large flag black and white supporters club shop flag outside the front of the Clubhouse where the large window is that many supporters came up to to ask about merchandise on Saturday, either that or they popped in to see me inside. So next time you are there maybe keep an eye out! Yes, we agree unfortunately the location of the shop is not conducive to getting the footfall that it would if it were at the pitchside as it was at our old ground but believe it or not we get no less people at the new shop location buying merchandise as we did at the old cuthbury and that was right at the entrance to the ground! Unfortunately as is always the case we are dependent on volunteers and over the last few months of last season and also on Saturday we had to try and find cover for the usual person who runs our shop on matchday due to personal circumstances , with no-one forthcoming i've had to step in to cover each week as was the same on Saturday. You can imagine how difficult it would be to find another person to stand in the hall with a table of merchandise too, unless of course anyone on here is willing to come forward as a volunteer to do such a thing? I would imagine you will find like all of us have found that people prefer to come and watch the game and dont want to give up precious matchday time to volunteer and miss any match build up or game time. Anyway, I for one am pleased with the takings of the first game and hope they continue, that was without the new kits being in stock as of yet, imagine what we can sell when they come in too! UP THE MAGPIES

I think everyone acknowledges including the Supporters Club that the shop is not ideally situated. The Supporters Club have purchased a flag to help draw attention to it on match days but word of mouth is a great advertiser! Please can all Forum members help spread the word about the Shop, where it is and what it sells. It all helps. The shop is run by volunteers on Match days and your support for them is welcome
Interesting that on Saturday they were very busy and sold out of caps!

If its acknowledged that the shop is in the wrong place, then all the more reason to get it more evident on matchdays by haveing a small table/stand in a more prominent place in the club room itself. Put a few of the populat items on it [caps, scarves, beanie hats etc] and make it clear that there is a club shop where you can buy many other items.
PS Let us know when the Caps are back in stock
PPS The website only shows replica shirts for last seasons shirt. Will there be this seasons shirts on sale shortly too ?

Maybe the 10 feet high flag that was purchased by one of the useless volunteers, which was positioned directly adjacent to the shop window, might have been a clue as to where to walk the 20 yards to the shop door.

Disillusioned the shop is run by the Supporters Club and on a voluntary basis. It was given a space by the club to hold and sell merchandise. If you would be happy to sit outside with a table whilst the other volunteers enjoy the pre match bar/warm up please get in touch with the Supporters Club Secretary. As I said in my earlier post I would urge all Forum members to promote the shop and inform people where it is. It was a successful first day of the season in terms of sales so clearly it isn’t as bad as some make out. Let’s all make it better.
