Congratulations to the Lionesses on winning the Euro Championship.
I'm not just jumping on the bandwagon here but I wonder why Wimborne hasnt got a Ladies team [ not that I've heard about anyway ]
When I was living in Wimborne Minster I used to go and watch the Wimborne Town Ladies play, and very good they were too. Why it disbanded I dont know. I just wonder if the club have any plans to re-start a Ladies team. After all there will be a demand for it surely, and we now have better facilities. I believe many girls join the various age groups the club has. Where do they go when of an age to join a Ladies team ?

Thanks for that Gemma. I think supporters need to know what has happened, particularly as the Trials happened in May. Or did they ? Other clubs locally at our level both have established Ladies teams [ i.e. Poole and Dorchester] We are going to be hard pressed to get players in if we wait too long. Is there a Manager ? Have they been entered into a League ? Lots of questions we need to know the answers to.

From what I recall (and I may be mistaken), the previous team left, pretty much as a group, to join another club?

I think they were seriously let down by certain Dinosaurs of the old BoD [ who we wrongly thought we had got rid of ] not understanding that girls have every right to play football. Rather like they couldnt embrace and understand how much the digital age meant to supporters.

The newly reformed Ladies Team played a pre-season friendly away to Shaftesbury Ladies on the 3rd August, losing 6 - 0. Details (from the Shaftesbury point of View) can be found on their Facebook Page www.facebook.com/Shaftesburyladiesfc/

Thanks for the info from various members
However shouldnt the club be telling us this. The info so far is very scant. Are WTFC deliberately keeping their distance from this. Lots of questions need to be answered such as Who is the Manager, Have they been entered into a League, How connected to the club is the Ladies team and what help will they get or is it just in name only, will they play home fixtures at New Cuthbury, what is the club doing to recruit more players, Will the club website have details of progress, etc etc etc

Maybe something a social media company should be covering......

Maybe something a social media company should be covering...... I dont understand that comment. If the Ladies side is going to use the club's name then the information about them should go out from the club directly.
I'm surprised WTFC [ i.e. Lee and the Directors] havent been transparent about this. After all the first we knew about the club forming a Ladies team was on the club's official website. Shouldnt we be informed about the progress and other details, on that website

I see in the Cinderford programme that the Ladies Manager is shown as Poppy Hansford.
She is on twitter @p_Hansford97 as is the Wimborne Town FC Women on @wimborne_Women
We have heard nothing from the club about previous posts on here.
If anyone from the Ladies team would like to keep us updated on progress I am sure members would like to know.

Just to let you know that I'm in email conversation with Poppy, Ladies Team Manager, about doing a filmed interview about the Team. Hopefully this will be in the next week or so. We'll then pass it to the website guys for posting on the Club's site. Your patience for a little longer would be most appreciated. Graham
