Not a word on either twitter. Not sure you will see Tony Lee playing football for a while.

I didn’t go either for the reasons previously stated! Have to say though that despite Poole probably being a bit light up front it was great to see a clean sheet from the boys against a team now in the League above but if you believe their hype hopes to be pushing close to the top. So far we are 5/5 in pre season with 2 games played away from home against teams higher than us. We beat Dorchester on their patch and today they beat Hamworthy (in our League) 3-1 today. Everything looking good for the season ahead. I can’t go to at least the next 2 friendlies. The Bournemouth U18’s will be interesting but Basingstoke might be tough. It was a feisty affair in the Cup last year! Cant wait for Cinderford!!

Looks like a few fans boycotted the game, did Gemma, bob, Barry channon go? Just wondering if we played well or deserved the win against poole?

Very even first half not much between the teams, Poole never had Toby up front never looked like they were going to get on top. The difference from last season and yesterday’s game once the second half subs came on our bench was much stronger than Poole’s, great second half from us only one team going to win that game 👍🤍🖤⚽️👋👋

No we didn’t go for the same reason others have mentioned, won’t put money into Poole town pockets and didn’t like the reception/abuse we received at previous games.
Great result though, well done lads 😊

Some other pre season friendly results locally:-
Dorchester 3 Hamworthy 1 [ Sam Griffin scored the HU goal] Bournemouth Poppies 1 Harpendon Town 1 Chichester City 1 Christchurch 1 [ As it was for the Steve Bernard Trophy - Chichester won 5-4 in the penalty shootout] Verwood Town 2 Gillingham Town 2 [ played at Blandford School 3G] and
AFCB 0 Bristol City 1 [Bodes well for their return to the EPL !]

Great result though, well done lads 😊 I understand the “ local rivalry” between Wimborne and Poole, but I think the reasons given such as “ not putting money” into Poole are a bit over the top, a few seasons ago when Wimborne were in dire straits many Poole fans put money in the various efforts to raise money to keep Wimborne afloat, many of you have short memories I suggest?

My. It given them any money isn’t down to the fact I don’t want them to have my money more the fact they are disrespectful and arrogant, Tommy killick and his staff think they are bigger and better than everyone else and his language is terrible when on the sideline

No that’s not the main reason by any means, in fact we used to watch Poole a few times a season when Wimborne were playing away, but the last time we attended to support Wimborne my boys were verbally abused throughout the game for wearing Wimborne colours so we won’t attend any future games I’m afraid, hence not putting any money into your club because we aren’t made to feel welcome.
