I have read this forum all season and I don’t ever comment on here or social media but I felt It was appropriate to put a few words out tonight now the season has ended,
It been a tough season with more lows than high, with some unbelievable bad luck along the way as well,
Over the course of the season we have had 3 serious knee injuries, losing loan keepers back to parent clubs and others stepping away from playing.
having a small budget early season and not being able to get enough experienced players in, to then getting a improved budget and players not wanting to come in as they couldn’t see a way out of the position we were in.
Finding a gem of a player in Harry Morgan from the Wessex league to ending the season with 7 players u21 years old in the last game to Chesham,
The pitch issues along the way which has caused games to be postponed when teams were struggling to field a team or we were on a couple of results and wanting to build some momentum,
All in all a frustrating season, but this is a great club to be involved with and we will rebuild on and off the pitch to make sure it’s in the best possible position come august 13th when we restart and when the season end this time next year.
There are going to be a lot of changes in the summer and hopefully a lot of positive news for the fans in the coming weeks/ month regarding player and staff news.
I would personally like to thank, Gambo, Matt Maybury, Jeff, mace, will, Paula and Lucia for all their hard work over this season, a lot of which goes unnoticed, the board for their continued support through this trying season, and most of all you the fans for coming out week after week to support the team, especially those select few who travel with us on the bus or make their own way to away games to cheers us on.
There are I’m sure much brighter days ahead next season with more results and a better atmosphere around the ground.
Again thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you next season .
