I just wanted to thank Tony of TBTV for videoing most of our home games this season. The quality he produces is superb.
I see on the Poole Town website forum some fans have asked him to video their games for next season. Tony has explained in the past that when he approached Poole Town they werent interested [ No reply received] As far as I'm aware I don't think their games are regularly videod for their fans. I should imagine they have a Veo camera which automatically follows the ball and is used by many clubs now for training purposes. Its absolutely nowhere as good as Tony's highlights as far as the fans are concerned as it just gives a one focus movement without close ups, replays, gameplays of interest etc etc and all the other things which make Tony's videos so watchable.
As far as I'm aware Poole dont even have a video tower [ did it get burnt down by their hooligan supporters !?!? - only joking]. I beleive Tony doesnt get paid for producing his videos which must take many hours to put together. I seem to recall this Forum offered Tony some remuneration at some stage but he refused. Tony's reputation for producing such brilliant work must have come to the notice of other clubs. If so I for one would be devestated if Poole came in now after several seasons of ignoring him. Their loss has certainly been our gain. If it comes to a question of money, Tony, please PM me to see what we can discuss and hope other Magpie supporters may chip in too.
I appreciate it is Tony's decision to video whichever game he feels is of most interest that week. I shouldnt imagine that there are many clubs [except Poole Town] who have refused his offer to video games. I hope the video tower we have and our BoD , will continue to support and encourage him to keep videoing our games for next season despite our relegation. Thanks again Tony.Regards Ben, Administrator
