As we near the end of the season I'm assuming its going to get harder to sign new players, and we might have to be content with loan players.
In a piece in the Echo about afcb it states " The Daily Echo understand that second-year scholars Morgan Daws, Noa Boutin, Owen Palmer and Ferdinand Okoh will be allowed to join non-league sides on loan, with Southern League clubs interested in their services. "
We've just taken on Tarik Gidaree from afcb and the Echo tell us Cherries youngster Brennan Camp has completed a short-term loan move to National League Eastleigh.
The 21-year-old right-back excelled during a loan spell with fellow non-league outfit Weymouth last season, making 33 appearances and scoring once in a 4-0 win at home to Wealdstone.
So this seems to be the time of the season for loaning out players from Football League teams. The big question is will this help us. If we do take more players on loan, although they may be technically good players, will they be motivated enough or able to cope with men's football and get us out of trouble ?
Should we get relegated I wonder if we might take some players from Poole. After their 6-1 drubbing by Hayes & Yeading on Saturday there is a great deal of consternation in the Poole Camp. In fact one of their Directors is quoted as saying " “Looking at the squad, I can only see two or three that I would say are definites next year, as few as that."

Admin, I think as we have been told all along our players, even our current squad now, isn't good enough, so as there has been recent confirmation that there are funds available, I guess we can expect further signings.
As for loans Its up to the manager to find the right ones, as you said the structure and set up at Bournemouth, even in the academy differs a lot from our own, also I would guess some of the ones allowed to leave may have come to the end of time and bournemouth so it is very difficult to gauge how helpful they are. But if we are told the squad isn't good enough then it would be fair to assume these players would improve us. I would suggest at this point our biggest hope would be weymouth. But again would many of these players want a stint at a possibly relegated step 4 team on their CV and again I would imagine they may turn their nose up at the set up.
As for Poole players, I would imagine any of their good players won't have any issues being picked up by teams in our league. The question, which I have asked before, is what is our selling point, its even more relevant in the league below.

Merely the selling point you keep going back to is in my opinion, a wage per week closer to what other clubs are offering , with the fact that the facilities are better than most locally now, and if the budget is better as stated it will be in the summer, than players spins to other players signing so if the management can get some good players in early than others will follow suit. From the current squad I would suggest only about 5/6 are good enough for a promotion chasing squad if the club goes down, so I’d expect close to 10 new players coming in in the summer

I think jack is right, most players will sign for another club if there’s more money there for them, regardless of leagues managers or facilities. Look at the players poole have attracted over the years due to paying more than ourselves, Toby travelling to Taunton can only be a financial gain!! Some loyal players still about but most are only after the extra bit of money another club is will to pay

Thanks Jack,
In your honest opinion do you think that now we have been told that it is only recently we have a moderately competitive budget for our league that, a) being in a league below we have enough money to not only out bid the likes of Salisbury, Dorchester, Poole, etc but do it from thr league below? And b) Is it wise to spend over the odds knowing that players dropping down a level for more money is this the right motivation.
It will be interesting for sure

It will be interesting for sure Merely, I think you only need tomoook at the evidence of this season with totton spending good money on players and dropping down a level or two, plus now look at Barnstable, bottom of the league and throughout money at baker from Salisbury, Irish from Taunton, howe from Tiverton. Is paying possibly over the odds for player the right decision, only James and the board can decided that but if you want to be successful you have to pay the money. From the players point of view it’s a part time job and if offered 1/2k a year more to do it than their current club they would probably do it and I’d imagine most people would do the same if offered that more doing a part time job
