A 21st minute goal by Dan Bartlett lifted the Magpies off the bottom of the League. Gerrard Benfield was sent off before half time [something he said to the ref ??] so Billy Maybury had to go in goal, and was voted man of the match, and Wimborne held firm. All the lads played heroicly to deny Tiverton in the second half.

I think all rum and monkey is say merely magpie is that most are quick to criticise a defeat but when the lads play well and win nothing is said, I get it’s only one game and more wins needed but, if the management or team do read this a bit of praise might go a long way to helping them achieve that

Absolutely I will give credit where it’s due, a great victory and a battling performance to be proud of so well done to James and all the lads 👏
It was good to hear in Graham’s interview with James that a few home truths were said on Thursday asking for more effort and work rate from the lads and that almost justifies some of the recent criticism that I and others have made recently.
The team definitely responded to that, and if they work as hard as that between now and the end of the season then there will no complaints from me as that’s all we as fans want and ask for, to see the desire and passion that we saw from the team in yesterday’s game.
I desperately want the team to win and stay up as much as anyone, after all that’s where the recent criticism from me has come from, because I care about the team and want to see them do well. We may have different opinions on this forum but we all have the same thing in common which is that we want the best for the Magpies.
2 difficult away games now so anything we get from them will be a bonus, purely because they are such strong teams, but who knows the confidence from yesterday’s win may just see us pinch a point of three. 🤞
