Happy new year everyone, I hope you all had a nice Xmas break.
I was just wondering if anybody knew the status on some of our injured/loan players?
Ben Scorey, do we know when he might be back as I think he’s been a real loss to the team
Dan Cann - Is he still with us? He hasn’t played much since signing so I guess still injured?
And also the the loan players, did we extend the loans of Rose and McBurnie from Weymouth? And I see that Bragg and Torniainen were on the bench for Eastleigh today so have we lost them?
And finally huge best wishes to Dan Strugnell as that looked so nasty yesterday, is there any further news on how he is getting on?

Loan Players seem to be a mixed blessing. They are usually quality players but when they get rave reviews like Billy Terrell did they get withdrawn by their parent club. We had heard Bragg was going back to Eastleigh but surprised to see Jack T on their bench. But he has been playing well for us.
I wonder if you have too many loan players coming and going does it disrupt team confidence and continuity ? But I appreciate that trying to sign players, who are better than those in the current squad, permanently, mid-season is difficult.
On a previous thread on this Forum the Weymouth manager said we would only have Rose and McBurnie until Christmas and for 5 games. Unfortunately they both got tested positive for Covid before the Gosport game so presume they have now gone back to Weymouth full time.
It would be nice for supporters to have an update on loan players and injuries in general. In Graham's last interview with James he seemed to intimate that Dan Strugnell's injury was a dislocated knee. If that is the case, then depending on the damage to ligaments etc, it looks as if he won't be back before March at the earliest. Yes, we all wish him well and for a speedy recovery.

Pretty sure only Jack is left. Weymouth lads have gone back I think. Dan is having an op or at least not available for a while I think. I suspect we may need to try loan in a centre back if possible.

Graham, thanks for asking James about the injured players in the last interview. It was good to get an update, but not good to hear bad news regarding Struggs and Ben Storey, hope to see them back playing in the future.
With regards to loan players, it would be good to get McBurnie and Rose back if it all possible, neither of them have even made the bench at Weymouth since going back.

As Gemma says it’s not good news regarding struggs or Ben and hope to see them soon back on the pitch.
With the loan players she mentioned, I wonder how either would fit into the wage bill now we’ve signed Dan Bartley and Gerrard, how much more does James have to spend after the new board have come in and what’s left after these two signings??

With Brian leaving Weymouth I would think this will happen anytime soon

I think too many loan players doesn't really fix thinks. You need a team committed to one another, not one when someone is there one minute and gone the next. Where is the vision, where is the style...
