Is there going to be a pitch inspection ahead of our game v Salisbury this afternoon ?

I think many supporters will be asking that Bazzer. As I write at 1020 hrs I cant find anything from the club website, twitter etc that tells us whether the game is off or not , or that there will be an inspection. With several days of rain, albeit not too heavy, but with the history of the pitch, I would have thought we might have had some assurances
Update - Game is confirmed as OFF - Waterlogged Pitch

The rain has been steady but by no means heavy with only 6mm recorded here in Corfe Mullen since midnight. With more rain forecast for the rest of the week New Years day game against Poole could also be a casualty. Unfortunately there does not appear to be a quick solution but the pitch installers surely have something to answer for.

Surely, these are two of the best-attended matches of the season, so likely a big loss of revenue if postponed to a Tuesday night. As onlooker says, the installers have a lot to answer for, and I really hope the club are looking at all avenues to fix this.

Some time ago I did write to White Horse Contractors and their sub contractors Slatters to ask about the pitch [ after the WsM debacle, on behalf of this Forum, but got no reply. This was when the old Board was running the club and it appears this may have triggered our Twitter account being banned !
Perhaps the club are in dialogue with the contractors about the condition of the drainage- but its the supporters suffering as well so I don't see why we can't get an explanation from the contractors ourselves if we feel things are dragging on.

With regards to the issues with the pitch I feel that Lee did a very good job of explaining the current situation at the recent fans forum.
Unfortunately this issue seems likely to go down the legal route, therefore I would suggest that supporters trust the BoD to sort out this very complex problem and refrain from "muddying the waters"
I am sure that as soon as the BoD have any news they will let us know.

Suffice to say the postponement on Monday (despite a valiant effort by Tony and others) was massively frustrating for everyone - and has cost us financially with a much smaller crowd likely when its rearranged.
Its clear the pitch at present isn't fit for purpose and it pains me to say it, but any rain on the day of a match is likely to lead to a postponement at the moment. Dialogue is ongoing with the contractor and I'd love to say more but its a tricky situation that we're trying to navigate. We've sought plenty of other professional opinion as well and everyone seems to have a different idea of how it should be maintained etc which doesn't really help us reach a solid conclusion. All I can say is we're on it and I'll seek to provide an update when I have something meaningful to report.

Worryingly having been at the club today the pitch is still waterlogged with water standing in both goal mouths. We are due to play Truro next Tuesday which a late postponement will no doubt cost us too with travel costs etc. Weather forecast does not bode well unfortunately either!
