Seems crazy to me, but i get the feeling that we won't be too far behind them. Will Merthyr playing behind closed doors work to our advantage? Nobody wants to see a side at this level struggle financially but when push comes to shove my priority is Wimborne staying in this division over any other side.

Merthyr didnt play the abandoned 20-21 season at all as they were 'mothballed' otherwise they would have gone into liquidation without fans being able to attend. If a lockdown happens in England and all games have to be behind closed doors, then surely not many clubs here would be able to survive.
I suppose a lockdown and no spectators could rescue us from relegation as surely the League would have to be abandoned yet again

I think there is a big risk that if this season gets stopped the League will end it on a PPG basis which (currently) will not be good for us. Dorchester and Beaconsfield have survived previously as a result of the League being abandoned but not sure that will happen this time. Interesting in Scotland they have limited outdoor sport to 500 spectators which would mean the League could survive. 🤞🤞I feel for Merthyr and was really looking forward to visiting them as having not made it there. I want people to be safe but preventing 380 people standing outside to watch a game of football doesn’t seem proportionate. The club could still sell beer, drinks, food etc to be consumed outdoors to keep revenue up. Hopefully common sense will prevail

PPG is all very well for determining relegation when all leagues have played all their games when the season is finished. But for using it before the season is out is extremely unfair. There are so many variables about what points you may get from games to come, who you were going to play, how many strong or weak teams you have to play, have you played an equal number of home and away games etc etc

I absolutely agree but I think the pressure will be on Leagues to try and complete a season given all the reshuffles in the pyramid etc. Let’s hope if any sort of lockdown or preventing sporting events are for major largely populated events not for games of 500 or so spectators
