I won't produce a match preview for the re-arranged game - please see last week's. Gillingham played a league game at Odd Down on Saturday and lost 1-0 in front of a crowd of 25.
I'm not going to the game.
If anyone is, and can provide us with a brief report on here of the major incidents, that would be most welcome.
In the two quarter-finals played last week, Hamworthy beat Bridport 4-0, and Poole won 4-3 at Sherborne. The other tie, Portland vs Verwood, has been re-arranged for this evening.

This competition is becoming a bit of a farce. Weymouth and Dorchester have opted out [presumably accepting a fine] Also AFCB play in the Hampshire Competition and I assume so do Poppies and Christchurch. This would be historical and goes back to when the towns of Bournemouth and Christchurch were in Hampshire. Rather ridiculous considering this was decades ago and we now have a BCP council. It would make it more interesting if these teams were moved over to Dorset but I doubt that would ever happen.

I believe there is a rule for the DSC that if a game is postponed twice then the home team has to give up home advantage and the fixture is reversed... Not sure if this applies to abandoned games.

The Dorset Cup is a complete waste of time. It only brings injuries and suspensions. I noticed we Lewis Beale playing...maybe a bit of a risk? If Beale was to get injured, do we have another option to play upfront? I'm of the opinion that the Dorset Cup is not worth a single risk. Put the kids & fringe players out on the return fixture.

I get your point about the DSC and it is a competition that no longer really has a purpose, however it is an opportunity for the management team to look at fringe players and give players coming back from injury or suspensions minutes on the pitch, this I assume would haves been James's thinking with Lewis Beale.

I understand that the re-arranged game will take place at New Cuthbury, probably in January.
