Southern League Division One South club AFC Totton produced one of the most stunning results in the Buildbase FA Trophy for many years by winning 5-0 at the Aspect Arena against Vanarama National league South side Concord Rangers.
The Beachboys, are not only two divisions above the Stags, but reached the final at Wembley in 2019/20 when were edged out 1-0 by now League Two Harrogate Town!
It`s not as if Concord are a struggling side either as they currently occupy 11th place in the table and are only a couple of points off a play-off spot.
However, the Hampshire visitors had to ride their luck in the opening few minutes and they had to rely on keeper Amadeusz Skrzyniarz for keeping the score blank with a save from Joe Payne in the 3rd minute being especially exceptional.
So, it was against the run of play that the Stags took a 13th-minute lead when Ethan Taylor fired a 20-yard effort into the back of the net.
Now it was the visitors turn to mount the pressure and they doubled their lead after 23 minutes when Sam Griffin cut in and fired past Myles Roberts.
And seconds later, Totton were in dreamland when Griffin notched his second with an effort that Roberts couldn`t hold.
With the strong wind at their backs, Ade Olumuyiwa almost made it 4-0 just before the break when he attempted a 40-yard half-volley which Roberts saved.
Only 4 minutes into the second half, the Stags surely put the tie to bed when they made it 4-0, Hisham Kasimu making the most of an error from the Concord keeper.
And in the 53rd minute, AFC Totton went nap as Adam Tomasso headed home a corner.
The visitors saw out the rest of the game quite comfortably against a visibly stunned Concord side to produce an upset made more remarkable due to the scoreline.
AFC Totton`s league rivals Plymouth Parkway also produced a big upset by knocking out Concord Rangers` league rivals Hampton & Richmond Borough 1-0 at Bolitho Park.
The Beavers had most of the early play and keeper Kyle Moore did well to save from Jake Gray and Niko Muir.
But Parkway edged their way into the tie and Jack Crago had a couple of efforts go just wide as the half finished goalless.
The deadlock was broken on the hour-mark when Moore`s long kick caught the wind and Crago was first to it to head over and past Hampton`s experienced number one, Alan Julian.
Lee Hobbs` side, in their first season at Step 4 level, almost put the tie to bed in the closing stages when the ever-dangerous Crago forced Julian into a terrific save.
But Parkway held firm to produce another excellent result and put their name in the hat for Monday`s Third Round draw.
There was another Division One South side who produced an upset, as Larkhall Athletic, who lost top scorer Lewis Powell to Merthyr Town yesterday, beat Premier Division South strugglers Wimborne Town 2-1 at New Cuthbury.
After a goalless opening half, the Magpies suffered a massive blow when they had Harry Morgan dismissed on 69 minutes for a second yellow offence.
And shortly after that, Matt Britton broke the deadlock to give the Larks the lead.
Near the end, Alex Lambert made sure when he doubled the visitors` lead, although Wimborne did manage a consolation in the 4th minute of stoppage time.
Premier Division South club Truro City edged through 3-2 at Isthmian League South Central side Binfield to avoid an upset.
Hartley Wintney suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Isthmian League Premier Division side Folkestone Invicta.
