In Tuesday night's matchday programme there was a full page profile of Claire who starts in the above role on Dec 1st. Paula has passed on the page which I've attached. Attachment Deleted

Welcome to Claire. I don't think we should lose sight of the absolute end result the club needs to do which is to get the club's first team to play at the highest level it financially can, and to keep it there, or promoted. At least that is what I am assuming most fans would want. In fact I havent seen it written down as a stated aim of the club. Or perhaps I am wrong and do we have to maintain a balance and consider all facets of the club which means supporting all teams etc, which basically means you have to accept the First team does not take takes precedence and finances are spread throughout the club.
Could Graham consider this as a question for the BoD please

I think this is a fair question which I hope can be added to Grahams list of Qs to ask.
I think what MinsterMann is saying is, with the signing of an Events Manager and a Commercial Manager - Are we going to be a Social Club for the town of Wimborne or is the priority financing the First Team not to get relegated ?

So, how do you think a winning/successful first team could be funded? There is no 'sugar daddy', nobody to plough tens of thousands into the club to fund the first team. Where will the cash come from?

Having an Events Manager who promotes the social club throughout the local area coupled with a successful Commercial Manager is the only way that the the club are going to be able to finance the playing budget that is required for our current level.
The BoD have finally realised this but unfortunately these two appointments may have been made to late to have any impact on this season.
I wish the two new members of staff the best of fortune and look forward to seeing the fruits of their labour.

Agree with yogi.lets hope they are a valuable addition to the club.it was great to see the crowds spending behind the bar at the Xmas Market. It a simple aim for me.raise funds to support a team at this level.who knows any events may attract new fans.there were plenty having a look around the pitch at the market last week.

Hmm, the events manager will do well for sure but how can they attract revenue from the keyboard warriors that have loads to say but spend little! Ultimately this is what supporters do spend money that supports the club but presence is needed to achieve this !

I suppose you could call me a keyboard warrior. But I don't just spout off on this Forum. I buy an entry ticket each week, I support the 50/50, buy a pie and a drink, plus a programme.I attended the recent Supporters Quiz evening, plus the fans forum, and I've given money to the club in other ways too. I am not going up to a Director during a game and ask questions or be critical in case I get banned, like others have. So this Forum is a great way to express my views if I don't think the club is run properly, or indeed praise the club if its done something good. Whatsmore its a great source of information as to what's happening, and all in one place. My wife tells me I'm too fanatical but when you've been watching the club through thick and thin for many decades then you do get wound up sometimes. Particularly at the moment when we've had many seasons of relative success previously but now find ourselves in the ironic situation of a new stadium but with the definite risk of being relegated. None of us in my generation have ever experienced an actual relegation. I think it's important for supporters to let off steam and have a say in who we blame for that. It won't stop me coming to games but it will be a massive disappointment

But we have to be realistic, having not seen relegation before was because we’ve never been at this level, we struggled for the first couple of seasons in the south west when we got there. Every club levels out at some point, maybe the south west is our level. Poole went up to conference south and financially couldn’t compete and got relegated.

lol. I spend a fortune at the club, spend time contributing to the match day programme. Spend money going to away games, buying club merchandise and am a member of the supporters club. I also attended the curry and quiz and the Xmas Market. . To simply label those who care passionately about the club as keyboard warriors says a lot about you and your agenda on here.I thought you were yogis personal troll judging by all your previous posts.

Hmm, the events manager will do well for sure but how can they attract revenue from the keyboard warriors that have loads to say but spend little! Ultimately this is what supporters do spend money that supports the club but presence is needed to achieve this ! That is an extremely divisive statement. You have no idea who the people are behind their 'pen' names, you can guess but until you know 100% how can you make a statement like that? Also, I have given a lot to the club, financially and with time, I was more than happy to continue until some super powerful person blocked me from Twitter for pretty much nothing and I'm not the only one on here! More than likely by somebody who has been at the club just a few years, in a position of perceived power, who knows very little about the history and input of people in the past. It is easy to label somebody a keyboard warrior but until you do, you should know about their history, what they have done for the club and not just jump to conclusions that they want to stir things up. Every organisation needs people to voice their opinion, no matter how much a board doesn't like it. It wouldn't help one bit if everybody just nodded their head. That is why we have a Parliament with an opposition party, if we didn't have an opposition we'd have a dictatorship. This unfortunately is the issue many fans have with the club, the club is far too defensive and cannot accept criticism or a different view of any kind, say something they don't like and BANG you are history! It's a shame because if the club were somewhat more receptive and less defensive, I'm sure they would get more help.

I'm not sure why sid76 has just posted on here after the takeover when its been stated there will be substantial funds available in future. To avoid future confusion I will now lock this thread. Ben
