We've had several posts on here in the past from people telling us the club has blocked their twitter account. Some of them may have given up supporting the club. I was assuming that somebody like Wayne Jones would have a list of who has been blocked ?

That's the plan but I must admit I'm not sure who has been blocked so if anyone wants to post on here the twitter details of anyone who has been blocked I can then pick up with the club to start the unblocking so to speak. That's okay Lee, however that could lead to somebody's identity being revealed and they may not want that to happen. It's fine if your Twitter name is a non de plume also but if it is your real name there could lie an issue.

Whoever has access to the club Twitter page can see who they've blocked - desktop steps are below & would be an equally simple task if using the app on a phone/tablet;
Step 1 From the side navigation menu, click More.
Step 2 Click Settings and privacy.
Step 3 Click Privacy and safety.
Step 4 Click Blocked accounts.
Step 5 At the top of your block list, you’ll see the option to click All or Imported.
Step 6 Click All to see every account you are currently blocking.
Step 7 To unblock an account, click the red Blocked button next to the account you’d like to unblock.

I had a minute before my next meeting - below are the steps for the mobile app user;
Step 1 Go into the Twitter app
Step 2 Click the user logo in the top left corner
Step 3 Scroll down to the bottom and tap Settings and Privacy
Step 4 Tap Privacy and Safety
Step 5 Tap Mute and block
Step 6 Tap black accounts
Step 7 Tap the red Blocked button next to the account you'd like to unblock

If you've got something to say, say it. If not, keep it zipped. And if you REALLY feel the need for secrecy, create another account. It's not rocket science.

If you've got something to say, say it. If not, keep it zipped. And if you REALLY feel the need for secrecy, create another account. It's not rocket science. So, can you explain then why the vast majority do not post under their real name? Many feel safer saying things through a false identity, things can be said without the fear of victimisation. As long as there is nothing racist etc. I think it makes for a more open discussion platform. The idea was muted on another forum to only use real names but it was voted down, people feel secure in anonymity. You wouldn't get half the posts on here if it was a real name forum. Also, if I post here with my 'real name', how would you know it was my real name? If, I posted on here under my real name of Christiano Messi and said that I heard a rumour say, we were getting a new pitch laid, at games I could get a right old hounding. My Twitter account is in my real name and I have taken your advice and created another 'secret' account on here. Having said that I have given clues to my identity here in other threads. I use many forums and pretty much are the same, I have been a member of the Cherries Vital one for more years than I care to remember and 95% plus of the users use 'handles'.

Let’s face it, the only main reason for using an unidentifiable pseudonym is to be “edgy” or outright offensive. No other reason really stacks up in my head.
Then again, maybe I’m looking at it too simplistically.

I totally agree with silver on this issue, I also post on various forums using the Yogi handle, I don't see the issue with this as long as the posts are not in anyway inflammatory, derogatory, racist or homophobic.
Anyway, yesterdays news was meant to be a fresh, bright, new beginning which many of us had been asking for, therefore lets get behind Lee and the club and see where this journey takes us!!

Then again, maybe I’m looking at it too simplistically. I think you are totally wrong in that view. So you are saying the vast majority of people who post on here want to be 'edgy' or outright offensive? Yes some people will post inflammatory comments, some will troll. I have yet to see any, in your words, outright offensive remarks on here. Do you have an example I have missed please? Also, if somebody posts something bang out of order, it's quite simple, yellow card and a warning, if it continues red card and a ban for a period of time or lifelong.

I'm doing my best to understand your anger/frustration/call it what you will, but do admit that I'm struggling to understand where you are getting your material from.
I said, "Let’s face it, the only main reason for using an unidentifiable pseudonym is to be “edgy” or outright offensive . ..". You seem to suggest that means I believe that everyone with a handle has an intention to post unsavoury comments? Have I got that right?
If so, my statement is a long way from that and, for the sake of repetition, I stand by my comment that someone would still only WANT or NEED to post under a pseudonym if if they want to be edgy or offensive and not identify themselves in the process. If someone feels the need for a cloaking device to feel safe from some overarching authority, by all means go for it, but I wouldn't have any expectation that my opinion would be taken too seriously.
Absolutely agree with your yellow card > red card suggestion by the way.

Personally, as the person who set this forum up, and as the Administrator, I fully understand why people use a 'handle' to disguise who they are. There are no rules for joining this Forum to say you have to use your real name. Personally I am more concerned about people using abusive and foul language which will not be tolerated on here. I have to trust members to be respectful to each other and not to use any language which would be against the law. Ben Roberts

I'm reliably informed that the Twitter blocks have now been removed. Mine hasn't Lee, just checked. Sorry Lee, cancel that, it did say I was blocked but then when I clicked on 'view Tweets' it was fine. Thank you for that, good job!
