Why are the player/match/match ball sponsorship offerings being shouted about on social media as per previous years and like other clubs do? I sense the club are missing a massive opportunity here. I know it's on the website under a certain section, but who's going to click through to there? Get it on social media where people can see it!
More to this point, the clubs twitter account is miles off what it used to be. Again, I feel the club is missing a huge opportunity here. Tweet updates are poorly laid out, with poor graphics and poor content. Surely this can be improved?

I have been an onlooker reading the many posts and threads on here pointing out the shortcomings of the club, the social media use, the lack of organisation and the way things are being done (or not!)but what I don’t see are any solutions being put forward to resolve the issues. I totally agree and also feel the frustration that organisation, communication and lack of expertise in many areas are what is lacking on the clubs behalf BUT we already know money is not forthcoming, I also think throwing money at a problem isn’t always the solution unless it comes to paying players wages clearly! Why aren’t people trying to help and offer solutions by volunteering in some way or offering up advice and expertise in the areas it is needed? I have seen on several occasions the advert for social media help and volunteers in other areas around the club but it seems that those very people who are happy to cast aspersions aren’t willing to offer their help in making it a better place! Some may say it’s not down to us, it’s nothing to do with us, they don’t want our help, well in that case stop expecting things to change!

By no means am I an expert in this field, and it's nothing against who runs it currently, especially if they can't get anyone else. I'm comparing it to the previously ran twitter and saying surely there's somebody who can help with this? Is there nobody who would do it, or nobody that fits the boards profile to do it? Or are they happy with how it is currently?

I am afraid the BOD is stuck in the dark ages with regards to social media and the positive impact this could have upon the club, its the same with the clubhouse which they see as and old man's drinking club and not as a revenue stream that could seriously boost the playing budget, how do they think other clubs have bigger budgets... Not every club have a sugar daddy...
With regards to Twitter I think people look at it, see the way Luke was treated and don't wish to be treated in the same fashion.
Once you have treated a loyal supporter in this way it is very difficult to regain people's trust.

Once you have treated a loyal supporter in this way it is very difficult to regain people's trust. Sorry Yogi, but that just strikes me as 1) living in the past and 2) a convenient cop out to do nothing. The main consideration is that there are often sensitive conversations which occur (rightly or wrongly) cover the social media platforms. Having a 'fan' getting wind of these (e.g. a 7 day approach for Player X) would likely mean that the news was leaked before the virtual ink was dry, so I can understand the reluctance to handover that kind of visibility. The argument against the current protectionism, however, is that it would be fairly easy to stamp out those kind of interactions on those platforms. It might take a while to get there, and there might be a few lapses but, ultimately, ridding those platforms of that kind of sensitive interactions would be a positive first step. The other danger is that said 'fan' could go rogue and bring the club into disrepute if they had an axe to grind. Again, this is something which could be easily remedied with a one strike and you're out type approach. The twitter account currently has 5998 followers, each of whom have actively chosen to read what the club says. Limiting what you put on there to promote the club is incredibly short-sighted. Anyway, I promised myself I wouldn't comment any more on this board as it is against the principe of what I set TBTVSport up to do, which was to avoid club politics. I can't have one foot in and one foot out, so I'll bid farewell in terms of opinion pieces!

Thanks for joining the Forum 'Grub' and putting your head above the parapet. I think the number of members we now have , and their posts, just shows how much the fans care about the club. They are generally of the opinion that James and Gambo are doing their best with the cards they have been dealt. This then leaves the BoD whose reputation is in tatters with many of the fans. Theyve pulled the forum attached to the club, they block fans from social media & the ground and create an atmosphere of fear, they wont accept any sponsorship from Fans [ not via this forum anyway] There seems to be a split amongst the hierarchy as I can't criticise all of them. But 3 of them especially seem to beleive that liberal democracy is obsolete and dismiss it by punishment, are totally unapproachable and that what they do cannot be criticized and that if there is criticism they will not engage in dialogue. So that would be the solution to revamp the BoD as many fans can only see that as the way to go.
