After 5 minutes things looked worrying as the Magpies were 1 down and Frome were 1 up. But gradually throughout the afternoon the tide changed and we came out winners whilst Frome surprisingly could only draw 3-3 against BMF with 2 goals scored by Frome in the last few minutes
Our scorers were Baker on 15 minutes, Roberts [58] and Morgan [78m]

Good thing we were 3-1 up when Frome made it 3-3 or injury time would have been a bit too exciting for us old blokes!

Attendance was 1124. Couldnt make it to the game today - must have been a good many Magpie supporters there. I know the Southern League were taking the Trophy and medals there today

There must have been at least 700 wimborne fans there. The team are relentless. They don't give up. What a season.

I'm not really a negative person even with a handle like mine. But I registered in the dark days when the old BoD was really devoid of ideas and didnt have a clue about building bridges with supporters. I'm still not comvinced that most of them should have stayed. But hey-ho look what an injection of cash has done. This isnt the time to get morbid and look whats happened. I'm sure even the '3 musketeers' have been surprised by the current success. Tim Sills and his team have moulded the side into Champions.
I know this isn't the time to think too far ahead - we need to bathe in our current success. Hope the club are going o organise some sort of celebrations at New Cuthbury.

Good morning, Champions!
What a season. What a journey. What a day.
Once again, the team showed character when they went behind so early in the game to get the job done. While yesterday wasn’t the best game of football (understandably), the team found a way to win, as they have done so often over the last few months.
I also thought Melksham Town Football Club were great. When we arrived, their chairman was at the gate to welcome us, and then allowing us to use their Wembley style ‘Royal Box’ for the presentation showed fantastic respect.
And what about our fans? The support that has grown has been brilliant and it’s been a joy to be part of it. The best of non-league football was on show yesterday!

Congratulations to the team for becoming champions and getting promotion. It's been a wonderful season. Thanks also to Martin Higgins, Lee Merrifield and Adam Tovey who took over the club and injected the money to make it all possible. And whoever was resposible for the foresight of signing up Tim Sills and his team
I would love there to be some sort of celebration at the Stadium. Hopefully it will come about and on a Sunday afternoon perhaps. I am one of those who can't get to evening games or away games any more. Those who went to Melksham must have had a great experience - I remember going to Alresford when we won to first get into the Southern League all those years ago.

I too would like to see some sort of celebration on a weekend afternoon. I know we have a presentation evening usually but the team needs more recognition than that and a chance to get a lot more fans to welcome and meet the team, especially the younger fans. With an evening then there is a limited number who can attend in the clubhouse [under 300] and younger fans can't attend.
Anyway Congratulations to all on the achievement of a league title and promotion

One of the best days I've witnessed at football, a dramatic end to an excellent season, and a huge thank you to everyone at Melksham Town who allowed us to celebrate in the way we did, a real touch of class from a proper non-league club!!
I know some of the clubs we have played have referred to our budget, but I guess when you average over 750 for home games, this obviously helps to boost the coffers, along with the sales on the day. Sour grapes or jealousy, maybe a mixture of both, but if you play good football, people will pay to come and watch!?
With regards to the play-offs, if there is any justice Frome Town will come up with us, but we all know the play-offs can be a complete lottery. I can think of pro's and con's for each team, but rather than name my preference, I would like to wish all 4 teams the best, we look forward to playing one of you again next season.
A celebration at the weekend is a great idea, it would give the fans, particularly the young ones a chance to meet the players. Maybe make it more like an open day so they can get photos with the players etc,and on the assumption we are getting new kits next season, it would give the players an opportunity to sign things and give them away.
An open-day / family day including Player of the Season Presentations would bring in lots of supporters and perhaps charge £1 for them to have photos with the League Trophy and their favourite player, and then donate all of the money to My Time Carers!? Just a thought, and apologies for the long message, think I'm still buzzing from yesterday!!! 🏆🍻🥧

Couldn't make the game due to prior commitments, but a fabulous turn out and result that everyone at the club deserves.
Massive congratulations to the BOD, management and players.
Cant wait to see what the summer brings and look forward to seeing us compete in a higher league.

Great season great end result, but make no mistake the difference in levels between our current league and the one we are going into is massive, I’m sure the BoD and management may know this, and a really intensive player recruitment programme will be required I suggest? Who do we think might enhance this current squad ? Our current player budget is reputed to be very good for this league, but there will be some “big hitters” in many of the teams above in the premier lge. Be interesting to see who stays, who goes and who comes in?

Be interesting to see who stays, who goes and who comes in? A very good point and one which the BOD and management will no doubt be focussing on now. Rumours are that some of the players may have already signed for next season, so will wait for this to be confirmed officially. The squad will of course need to be strengthened and the budget increased to enable us to compete in the league above, but as harsh as it is, some of the squad will be moving on, whether that is through choice or by being released - that's football I guess!
