We fielded a lot of new faces in the starting line-up which was Hall, Henry, Mason, Jamison, Smith, McWilliams, Jo Freak, Lewis Freak, Channell, Ive , Bragg Subs :- Morrison, Young, Morgan, Beale, Maybury
It was 0-2 at half time and Ive scored on his debut just after half time.
I believe Maybury, Morgan and Morrison came on at some stage of the game but an embarrasing night all round
Attendance was 143

Agreed, I think this proves the dev lads are not ready for southern league football

Agreed, I think this proves the dev lads are not ready for southern league football As disappointing it was to lose last night, I think James post match interview is right, the league and fa trophy are more important, I see naughty Poole on Twitter saying they should have fielded a stronger team but what I Lewis Veale played and got injured and couldn’t play against dorch in that big match on Tuesday. I’m sure one of gambos last Wimborne games/career stoped after a county cup/league cup game one year. What’s your thoughts on the team selection for last night.

I think it was a sensible footballing decision and probably the only one to make with such a thin squad. I can only imagine the outcry if Beale or Young (I’m just grabbing for a couple of names here) had started but got injured, or if the weekend match v WSM was compromised in some other way.
The only other consideration is that I don’t imagine there are many people happy paying full price to watch what was effectively a reserve game. Maybe some pricing flexibility could be considered for the competitions which are used as proving grounds?

It would have been madness to pick a stronger team.havinv said that agree with tbtv.half price entrance would have attracted more fans.i notice the abandoned game is now half price.

Perfect team selection from the management. Certainly not a game where we want to pick up any injuries. Will those calling for more development squad players to be involved now admit that most are nowhere near the level needed to compete at this level of football? It's ok winning a development league but this is a completely different level and i think last night showed that, being thumped by a team from a league below.
I personally won't be reading anything into the result last night. It was the correct call by the management and onto Saturday & Tuesday now.

1 agree the development boys are not ready yet for 1st team football, but most of them only playing a few times for the 1st need time to get used to the speed of the higher leagues.
They can only win the league they are put in.

Fans finally seeing the bigger picture that the league is far more important, all top prem clubs us league cup games for development players so why would Wimborne risk player injury in a pointless competition. The board have got the prices wrong for these games and I hope they don’t do the same in Dorset senior cup.

Is the Dorset Senior Cup running this year? I've seen nothing about it so far.

Yes the play Gillingham I think. Will be interesting to see what team they pick for that as the league is the be all and end all and development boys not good enough

I think it’s a bit harsh to say that all the development boys aren’t ready, my point being is that you can’t really judge when they are all playing at the same time for the first team.
In an ideal world you would introduce 1 or 2 at a time with other more experienced first teamers (like we have done in the league games)
I still think that Cam, Jake and Regan have the ability to play at first team level, but it’s a big ask with the current league position and the pressure the team are under to pick up points.

Cam allways seems to get injured and look physically out of his depth. Jake and regan seem the best of the lot.

Did they not draw in a friendly early part of year against the full 1st team so being very harsh on 5 development boys. They all need the chance to proof themselves at the higher level and should not be judged over a couple of games.
