Heard from a fairly reliable source at the last game that the main grass pitch is no longer under any sort of warranty from the contractors [Slatters?]. Apparantley the club has to sort out the problems for themselves [drainage - especially at the River end ] The last Reserves game had to be held on the 3G.
Surely we can complain that its not fit for purpose. Will be interested to hear an explanation at tomorrows [ Mon 8th Nov 7pm] Fans Forum in the clubhouse.

I would guess there was a 1 year “warranty” which has now expired?
Neither party could predict that no games would be possible for 6+ months but someone who knows what they’re talking about would need to opine on whether it was ever fit for purpose in the first place.

Would love to know why the agreement for afcb to maintain it was withdrawn.it may be something to do with the complex they are going to build at ringwood but surely that is a way off?

I seemed to recall when Oxford United trained on the pitch in the summer there was a downpour and Oxford had to abandon their training for that day. We should have 'smelt a rat' then. Also a regular supporter who lives nearby went down to the ground regularly when the Wyatt houses were being built and a huge mound of earth/debris etc was built just about where the river end goalmouth is now. It covered a large area and was at least 30ft high and was there for a long time to such an extent it 'greened' over. Would this have compacted the ground below ?

Just been looking on this topographical relief map showing metres above sea level en-gb.topographic-map.com/maps/pnjr/Wimborne-Minster/It appears the River at its nearest point to the stadium is, normally pre-flood, approx 16 metres [ or more?] above sea level whereas the stadium is 18 metres above sea level. The old Cuthbury , by comparison, was 23metres above sea level at its lowest point in the bottom corner. The river at its neares point the river is 18 metres above sea level. If you click where you place the hand on the map it gives you the height above sea level
