A much better performance by the lads tonight. But it didnt look that way after our centre back [name?] got sent off before half time. It had been Even Stevens before that. The floodlights failed for about 10/15 mins just before halftime too and Merthyr made the advantage tell to score.
In the 2nd half we gradually got to be the better team although Billy Terrell had to be his usual brilliant self and made 2 fantastic double saves at one point. Just as it looked like our superiority would come to nothing up stepped Charlie Gunson to equalise in the 89th minute with a free kick from the same place as one minutes before which had produced an excellent save from the Merthyr keeper. With 11 men we could have probably won the game. There was certainly a great spirit from the team tonight, especially in the 2nd half
We go level with Kings Langley on points and with a better goal difference and two games in hand to put us above them in the league. We play KL in a weeks time at New Cuthbury. Should be a cracker !
