Had difficulty in getting any info about this game played tonight Wed 13/10/21. Found this on twitter
"Our U18s Win on Penalties against Chippenham Town FC U18s to make it through the the First Offical Round of the FA Youth Cup Trophy This could result in our Ex Development Centre players up against a professional Academy"
Any one with more info ? What was the score at full time? What was the score after penalties? We beat 3 sides attached to National League sides to get this far
Well done the U18's

0-0 at full time and then straight to penalties. Chippenham went first which was saved by the young Wimborne goalie ( who made some great saves in the match too) The penalties were then scored at every visit until Chippenhams fifth penalty which was dragged left. Wimborne win 4-3

I went along for a watch (no filming).
It was 0-0 at full time, with the visitors having had the better of the match and creating the clearer chances. A couple of excellent saves were required from the Magpies GK (sorry, I don’t know his name) to keep them at bay.
No extra time, so straight to pens with the opposition going first. The excellent Wimborne GK got his teammates off to the best possible start by saving it.
Wimborne kept their cool, and that advantage, by netting all of their next 4 efforts. With the penalties at 3-4 in the favour of WTFC, the 5th penalty taker for Chippenham blasted wide of the left hand upright and it was game over.

Underwhelming response from the parent club for an exceptional run by the youth team They are not interested unless it brings in ££££ They even wanted a shed load to provide after match catering for the last fixture v Chippenham. Coaching staff said no and had to have a 'whip round' for sandwiches & a coke that they themselves then provided to all the players - so embarrassing ! The club need to do way better for the next round and show some professionalism !

Just been contacted by a forum member and decades long supporter of the club who has been shocked by the BoD's response to the request for help with the catering for opponents of the Youth team. They say if they had been asked they would have finanaced the catering and would be prepared to do so up to a certain ceiling for Forest Green too. Contact me to make any arrangements necessary with our member who wishes to remain anonymous. I hope I would be right in saying other members would be prepared to chip in with small donations too? I just wonder if the BoD will now jump on the Bandwagon as the Youth team will be getting to the stage of plaudits for the club as a whole. I thought the stated aim of the BoD was to encourage players from the lower levels of the club to progress through to the first team eventually. This is NOT giving a good impression to youngsters that they are getting any support for their efforts. So far the BoD have played down what the Youth team have done in getting so far in the competition. It has been difficult to get any sort of information coming out of the club and I think we all realise the reason now. P.s as an aside - did you know the owner of Forest Green Rovers, Dale Vince, is a Vegan. And as such has made the club carbon neutral and it serves only vegan food to its players and fans. See this article here www.cbsnews.com/news/forest-green-rovers-vegan-carbon-neutral-professional-sports-team/

I'm happy to contribute. It's been a pleasure to watch the U18's progress in then FA Youth Cup this season. They are the future! There does seem to be a disconnect somehow between the teams if this is the case which is a real shame. The level of paying support at the FA Youth games has been very good so you would think it should be supported. Hopefully the whole club including supporters get behind these youngsters against Forest Green (bang the stands, sing songs) and eat meat hot dogs during the game!!
