I don’t think the team was ever that attacking, we played a counter attack system when Toby played, the 9players had to defend for large periods to get the ball to give Toby a few chances to score, I’m pretty sure we never finished with a plus goal count at the end of the season so not a attacking team in my mind.
We really play teams with 3 cb most play with a back four so Lewis would be up against 2 cb, and if we play with 2 up front why can’t Harry Morgan still play in the 10 position??

Toby was a goal scorer we set the team up to allow him to score goals and boy he delivered ? Are we playing the right way to allow Lewis to use his strengths ? Toby was a goal scorer your right, can you say you enjoyed watching the team defend for large periods for the and the just clip balls over the top for Toby to score and if he didn’t then sulk? It wasn’t a very enjoyable team to watch. im not sure if you have just swerved my earlier question or not ! do you think we are playing to Lewis strengths to allow him to be able to score more goals, on Saturday a very strong back line never gave us a chance of anything being hit over the top there number 4 was to good to allow that to happen, same again last night ?🤍🖤⚽️👍

I think Lewis need to play in between cbs on the shoulder, if the players arnt giving him the ball in those positions who’s at fault, Lewis, the midfielders or the managment?
Lee didn’t play last night so do you think the management notice that and played a different pair to try and combat that?

It wasn’t a very enjoyable team to watch. You’re the first person I’ve ever heard say they didn’t enjoy watching the team with Toby in it, I didn’t think it was a defensive team either with all the goals also scored by Lovell, Burbs, Luke Holmes. Anyway I think we all agree that we have good strikers, I was delighted that we managed to keep hold of Bealey, sign Harry who’s a proven goal scorer at this level and above and also I think Hoey scored 20+ goals in this league last season for Totton so we have the firepower. All people are questioning is whether we are playing to our strengths to get the goals from them that’s all. These last minute goals are coming because we haven’t taken our chances and killed games off, the other side get braver going into the last 5 minutes at 0-0 and end up pinching one. I’d also like to see 2 up front as poor Bealey spends most of each game up against 3 centre backs trying to compete for the high ball or chasing across their box as the 3 of them pass out from the back. The dilemma is that we obviously have Harry Morgan who’s best position is in the 10 behind the striker so to play 2 up front we’d have to drop him back into a midfield four. Team played very well last night though and did not deserve to lose, no complaints with the effort or performance, best team lost sadly. What are the strengths of these players? I think bealey plays in behind or on the shoulder, Harry baker is good in around the box and holds the ball up well, and Jack hoey is a natural finisher. This is my opinion on the 3 players what do others think and how we should set up with them to play

My opinion is our starting 11 last night was the best I’ve seen so far this season 🤍🖤⚽️👍

I don’t disagree that that 11 played the best we have seen this season the question you asked earlier is are we playing to the strikers strengths, so I’m wondering what people think they are and if we are playing to suits any of them

Toby was absolute quality for us. He made his name with this club. I dont recognise the type of play mentioned. Sure the ball was slipped through to him and not neccesarily over the top but it was exciting to watch as he got away from the centre backs and invariably scored. And because that was in the days when we won more games than we lost it got us up into the Premier South and it felt and gave us all a great feeling to win games. Its all very subdued at present except for the odd exception. And he wasnt always having the ball played to him to run through. Check this video out when he scored when getting the ball on the edge of his own penalty area. www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCCcQ7_8mug

The last time I got involved in a debate like this it never ended well 😂😂 The team that gives it’s all but gets beaten by a better team you just take it on the chin, the losses this year im not convinced we were beaten by a better team we’ve just not been able to put the ball in the net for whatever reason, let’s leave it like that and I hope when we play the next game there’s no changes from last nights starting 11 🖤🤍⚽️👍

I can’t remember ever walking away thinking I had not had value for money watching that team ?

That’s my opinion rightly or wrongly

I wasn't at the game. However, Neil Walton, the Dorset Echo Senior Sports Correspondent, has agreed that we can use his match report: View AttachmentThanks Neil. It should appear on our Club's website later today. I wasn't at the game but followed on twitter. It seems we played well but lacked the killer instinct.somethingbto build on,though I had hoped with all the support and investment we should have had that.

So because we’ve had investment we automatically have to beat Dorchester who are a league above us and sitting 6th in the league??

Some truly bizarre opinions about Toby. Loved watching that team.an absolute class player at this level. Barely missed a game home and away watching them.. To suggest we set up to defend and boot it is not something I ever saw. Not sure matty holmes or the attendances we got would agree either.

Toby wasn’t and isn’t a class player, he’s a very good goal scorer there’s a difference

So.. remind me … when did Toby last play for us… how good was he in the air.. and used his head.. although a good goal scorer… Here we are in the 2022/23 season - new players, investors and a good… yes a good and passionate Manager and his team.. We know Beale can score goals.. he’ll be back soon with his skills… just have faith… Bet he feels frustrated he hasn’t been on the score sheet for awhile… Change is exciting, new, opportunities… great to look back.. but more important to look forward with support for our team for the season… C’mon James, a great team of players, just look at our subs bench… so much on offer… most true supporters are so supportive of your overall plan… and a few historic negatives… are interesting to read but irrelevant in the big scheme of things… Keep going.. and keep limping although you seem to be recovering from your injury…
